I am curious how many renew their Sirius XM radio after the free year trial runs out on their Jeep. Also why or why not?

Thanks.

Mike.

You can definately make a deal with them. When my 1 yr was up on my 10 I was able to get a Lifetime package for $222. I plan on keeping the Rubi a long time. I was also able to get Traffic for $207 for 5yrs. You have to call them. You don't get great deals on-line.

hell yes, sat. radio has stations that plays the music i listen to - metal.

cant find that on fm radio - at least in ny

pandora - doesnt play clear from my phone through the aux jack - so thats out
Channel 40!!!
Where in NY are you? In the NYC area 89.5 WSOU plays tons of metal.
But since getting my jeep 2 years ago I haven't tuned into that station at all!

I absolutely love the satellite radio. Worth the 7.99/month I pay for the music only plan.
Yes there is pandora but pandora doesnt have the great interviews and special shows that sirius has.

Worth every penny for me!!

Doubt I will. I've been driving my new 2012 jkr for about a week and a half now and haven't even bothered to try it yet. Decent radio in Boston area - plus tunein radio (iPhone app) works great for free! Also Mytunes pro makes using your iPhone to play music work great (and also makes the stereo sound much better). Can't see paying so much for radIo...

all you have to do is negotiate with them at time of renewal. i end up paying about $7/month whenever I tell them I want to cancel.
My father and coworker did the same. Coworker pays 18 bucks for 6 months...

Wow, that was some hard reading. Do others a favor and punctuate.

They'll deal if you call to cancel the subscription. I told them the economy's bad, neither me or my wife have had a raise in 3 years and $169 is absolutely rediculous. They lowered it to $80 bucks.
This July I'll be telling them no raise this year either, so renew my 80 dollar subscription!

Free trial? You still had to pay $195 for the year when you bought the Jeep. Or am I the only sucker? :hide:

Sirius is ok, found 2 channels so far that I listen too. Will I renew? Most likely not, between my iPod, phone, cds and the radio (sometimes), I think I have plenty to listen too. In a year from now I may change my mind :D

Nothing is free....they build the cost of the first year into cost of your new Jeep.

After the first year you definitely have the power to negotiate a better rate. Just watch the auto renewal thing.
I know I paid $195 for the year. That's what I thought. I guess the "free" trial through me off.

Good thing they do not have my CC info for the auto renew. Plus when you first activate it when you buy the Jeep brand new, there is no reason to give them your CC info.

I don't think I have listened to the Sirius radio for 5 minutes in the last month since I took delivery. Needless to say, I won't be renewing the subscription at any price short of free. The iPod is a different story, but even that hasn't been used that much. I typically drive with no entertainment on at all. Just the sound of the Jeep.

It might sound strange, but when I think about it, nearly every close call I have had over the years came about as the result of a moments inattention. Usually the result of fooling around with the radio. I finally decided to just drive without even turning the damn thing on and doing what I'm supposed to be doing in the first place...driving. I haven't had a ticket, or scratched a vehicle in over 30 years. I want to keep it that way.

I stream music from my phone, Pandora and such, via bluetooth through the stereo. I also download audio books from my library for free and play them the same way. Free and Free. I really don't want to give Sirius my money for something I can for nothing.

Don't know it, never gave it a thought. Until I read this thread. Know about it as a whole but never been into the electronic gadgets and toys even though I earn my keep from them. After reading this thread, then signing up for a trial on the sirius site and listing nearly for the whole day. I may very well be sold. Tired of the radio stations, 15 minutes of ads, and then one song. Contacted my dealer to ask if the option can be added to my yet to be built machine. found the experience of zero ads quite amazing while all current tunes. Love the tip about hanging loose once it expires and having them keep dropping the price lol.

You can always replace analog with digit radio as an option as well. More free choices.
