Maybe the dog was trying to help because the camera guys sure weren't.

Never been "rock crawling" . . . .

I assume the proper technique is precisely as demonstrated here--point jeep at rocks, floor it, jerk steering wheel around, look out window, floor it again, look out window again, floor it one more time, and then get out to look at all the stuff I broke.

That's about it, right?

And at this point it's just a matter of time until the guy opens an account to:

(a) Complain about how he "thought" jeeps were these great offroaders, but all he tried to do was drive over a few pebbles that he used to be able to do in his Camry and he broke all this stuff;

(b) How mad he is that his dealer said the damage won't be covered under warranty because he was "abusing" the vehicle--after all, jeep's warranty should cover anything that breaks offroad for any reason at all; and

(c) Declare that jeeps are cheap pieces of crap, he'll never buy one again, and that he should have gotten an FJ because he saw his friend do the exact same thing in an FJ and it literally flew over the rocks without a scratch.

WOW. I am so glad I watched that. I am going to go find a rock a head right towards it at high speeds.

"Ohhhh!!!! Ouuuuuhhhh!! OHHHHH!!!" = my favorite part. Could only have been better if followed by "Awwwwww" for not flipping.

I hope he is the type of person who takes breaking a part as an opportunity to upgrade parts. He might have been trying to break everything under his Jeep, at the exact same time.

I didn't watch it all, but from what I saw it wasn't nearly as bad as this idiot I filmed earlier this year.

Ok are you the one going "yeeeeee hooooo!!!"? That's pretty good if so. Why didn't he just climb the line to the left of the person almost run over by him?

See, to me that actually looked better. At least without the sound on.

This video looks to me like he was creeping along, then his rear tire dropped off the ledge, and he goosed it--which, while reckless, was actually successful in avoiding what could've been a rollover.

The guy in the first video was just stomping the throttle while trying to climb over rocks. The result being a busted up undercarriage.

Of course, the honest to God truth is I have no idea what I'm doing on anything other than your basic dirt trails. So I'm not really competent to judge the idiocy competition here.

I will say that I would love to build up a mid-nineties Disco like in that second video . . . .

Haha, yeah that was my "Yee Hoo"...

Some people just weren't meant to off road, as the guys in both videos, and one day they will learn the hard way... unfortunately, but these situations also make it hell for others who enjoy off roading.

Or lockers? The guy in the first vid could have crawled over that with no gas using em and 4L.

No, it's how many things "can" go wrong. He did rip out his shaft and that whole almost flipped it thing too.

Oh and just because the jeep is pointing straight doesn't mean the tires are. FLOOR IT!!

Eagle Ridge has some pretty tricky lines, and it isn't maintained at all. Erosion City. This is one of the ledges low on the trail and I am sure he thought it was gonna be the same as last year. My guess is he picked a line that worked well last year and his foot gassed too hard when he hit the rock bank. ( to clear this line, you pretty well had to start with a wheel up the bank)
I've seen this guy's jeep in some pretty technical spots where slow crawling and quick bumps are must.
Everyone has bad days, at least he was in the woods.

I don't understand, was the jeep just in a giant mud puddle, or did he just leave the parking brake on? I dont see anything there a stock jeep couldnt get over.....

once again, just because you have lockers doesnt mean you should use them!

^ I think it's more of a "why are we driving up the side of a hill with our steering wheel all crocked when we could just go straight?"
