How many would trade their JK for this?

Admittedly...I love Totota FJs, in addition to several Jeeps (now a JKUR)...I own/have owned several Land Cruisers....right now an FJ40 and a FJ Cruiser TRD.

I would be breaking my piggybank open if they actually make this Toyota FJ

It looks like the top will even come off!

Why settle for the imitation when you can have the real thing?

Just like so many other products made in America. We design them and build them, Then the Japanese make them better. Sad but true. I think they look cool. But a Jeep is a Jeep. I bought mine for what it is.

Too many similarities to the JK, including the fact that they're both foreign...

LOL!

The funny thing is that the Toyota could have a chance at being made in the USA

I don't see much Jeep there, I do see Hummer lower front end, 70's Bronco top and Land Rover roof. If it flat tows I'd definitely give it a real close look.

This right here...

I'd be all over the modern version of the bronco looks like the 69 stubby version except it has IFS.....didn't make production but very nice design....

If this were solid axle I'd look at it more serious......would be good to see yota do this and ford do their bronco....

I like the looks. would have to drive to see differences. I am admittedly a first time Jeep owner, but I am not a brand fan boy. I can to my JK via a Land Rover and if this comes out and rocks, then I would go for it as well (price of course is a concern) . Just like I am about to trade in my Z4M for a Porsche Boxster. To me it is all about what I like.

Correct. If Toyota built a vehicle with the same driveline components (solid axles, good transfercase, lockers, etc as a JKU and it came with Toyota reliability, and it looked good, I would jump ship. I am not a brand loyalist. I get the best product available for the money, and right now, that's the Wrangler. If someone can slay the king, I would follow the new leader. I've said it before, Jeep has the unfortunate circumstance of being owned by Chrysler (now Fiat.) I much rather Honda or Toyota take over rather than Fiat, provided they keep the Jeep line as is, just inject some quality control.

Agreed....The LR DC100 concept also looked very promising, planned to be available in SWB, LWB, 4 door and pick up.

Alas...they cancelled it. No expalnation why.

I would buy it. If it's Toyota you know it will be quality. I have no brand loyalty, certainly not to Chrysler. Besides, it will be built in the USA by Americans just like my 2010 Tundra is.

Would not trade my JK for it, but I would consider it as the wife's daily driver.

It's annoying when people talk about quality these days...I work for jeep and PREFER Jeeps, but nobody makes a BAD car anymore. modern technology is so much different than it was several years ago, theres no such thing as "reliability" between brands anymore. They all use the same technology. If anything, Toyota is behind the buck on their technology. This was coming from my cousin who works for Toyota.

Ha ha ha...the Toyota FJ looks like a Barbie Malibu beach cruiser. You should be ashamed and should sell your Wrangler immediately....you're not worthy.

So true. When was the last time you heard of a Jeep's gas pedal sticking wide open?

I would have to see the final (actual) product. I also would not buy the first production year. I might considerate though.

No chance in hell I would ever trade a wrangler from a break rover. I have a few land rover products throughout my family, and all of them are utter pieces of sh!t. They are at the dealer nonstop.

Tell that to the guys with leaky roofs, sand in their heatercores, rattles on brand new vehicles, a clockspring that they can't get right going on 5 years now, etc etc etc.

Never happened on Toyota's either, it was a hoax. Rather have my gas pedal stick than have my jeep burst into flames.
