How much did you purchase your 2012 for?

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and have been reading many posts here and researching as much as I can about the new 2012 Wrangler before I make my purchase. I'm pretty sold on the Wrangler Sport S (can't do without A/C). I'll be going for my test drive tonight and was just wondering what everyone paid for theirs. I'm hoping to pay somewhere around 21k or less if possible! If you can include what the list price was as well as what you paid that would be great! Thanks!

Check out Milous' post on 2012 pricing here: http://www.wranglerforum.com/f33/201...ml#post1352533.

Many people here paid 1% under "invoice" (factory wholesale price) for their Jeeps by using the Chrysler Affiliate Rewards program which you can become eligible for with a $60 Tread Lightly membership. Tread Lightly - Individual Memberships

You are supposed to be a member for 30 days to use it, and it will take about a week to get your membership letter and company code so you can get a Chrysler control number to take advantage of the no-hassle, guaranteed price program.

Even with that, a stripped 2012 Sport S is going to be just North of $24,000 plus tax, DOC fee, registration, tags. If I've figured it right, $21K is below dealer cost. You may be able do get a 2011 for that, but not a 2012. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong on this.

10.5% under MSRP

I had to custom order the options set I wanted, I'm certain I could have done a lot better if I bought off of the lot.

I have been looking as well and talking with several dealers, base Wrangler soft top, manual with air, sticker is just under $24k, about $2k off is the best I have seen, doubt you will be able to find a S for $21k.

About 31% under msrp. Considering Dealer paying off my leased 2010.

About 17% under msrp. Taking out the payoff on my Lease.

I'm surprised that you didn't get them to pay you for it!

Thanks for the replies everyone! Interesting to hear some of your feedback. Am I correct by saying the Invoice price for a Wrangler Sport is $21,700? I know a rule of thumb is always to negotiate from the Invoice price, not the sticker!

Nope. According to Milous, Sport JK invoice = $22,261 (including destination fee)
"S" Package invoice = $1,998

Man, I just noticed that you're in Chicago! For heaven's sake... go see Pat at Fields Jeep! He's a member here and, believe it or not, he's a completely open and honest guy! You can thank me later!

Up Hill Bill, thanks! I actually just found they are less than 30 minutes from my house. I will be contacting Pat today to see if I can set up a test drive with him

Everyone here will tell you that you will get the best possible deal and fairest treatment anywhere from Pat!

If Pat can't get you into a 2012 now, hold off and save a few more bucks until he can! Pat will help you, and leave you with a good feeling about the whole experience!

Indeed. Though I live in Utah Pat gave me great advice. Yes I paid out the nose even after discounts but I got the top of the line but his advice was wonderful along with my salesman.

Including mods around 43k au or around 170k dhrs and completely love it (even though I payed more than most on the forum here I could have saved probably around 8-10k US, but at this stage in my life I don't have the time to do the suspension and other mods myself ( my time is much more important to spend with my new son and wife) after I get home from work/study, so I let AEV do the whole lot. (actually organized by my dealer before I picked up the car) AND best of all, all the mods are included in the factory warranty. /that/ was also the really important bit for me. So yeah I payed more than if I would have done the upgrades myself, but damm, I am soo happy with it, best purchase and decision I have made to get the dealer to do the upgrades.

Cheers and good luck with your purchase. Make sure you do the research before you sign on the dotted line.

Seems to be a common trend...I was 11% below MSRP which was 3% below invoice (Canada).

In the US:
Jan 2012: JK Sport S off of the lot: 3.5% off invoice
March 2012: JK Rubicon Order: 3.7% off invoice

Both prices were below TrueCar's "Dealer Cost"
