How to remove sticky residue from plastic

In the humidity the ez pass fell of the windshield in the wife's car and left some of adhesive from the velcro on the buttons on the dash. What is the best way to remove it without damaging the color of the plastic.

Goo Gone - it can be found at Wal-Mart. Stuff works on everything and is safe. I used it when I took off my dealer badge and there was some residue left behind.

If you don't have any Goo Gone, try a soft rag sprayed with some WD-40.

Yup, goo gone or wd-40. Either should work.
