How to stop noise from Bestop underseat storage box?

Installed it and it serves my purposes but the noise when I go over a bump is driving me crazy. Can anyone give me some ideas, I remember reading somewhere weatherstripping or felt. Also, something about tightening a specific screw or screws? Any help would be great.

Self adhesive weatherstrip applied to the 'lips' of the drawer will tighten it up so it won't rattle. I also tightened the nut holding the lock in place and the nut securing the cam, but only because they were loose on mine.

I just wrapped electrical tape around the latch. Slide the drawer out and rotate to the lock position. Wrap that silver latch with tape and no more rattle. Or you can go for the weatherstripping idea.. if it was me I would use two sided foam tape and just put small pieces in the corners of the inside of the drawer face. I taped my latch like six months ago and havent had a rattle or a problem since..

Luckily I got a good one too that makes no noise but I had some little rubber footy shims ready to slide in the drawer if/when I ever need them.

I'm looking at one of these for my 2012, but read that they won't fit under some year-model seats. Anybody installed one on a 2012 JKU?

Kind've confusing, since most sites list it as available for '07-'12's...

Very easy install and fits like a glove on a JKU. You just have to remove the bracket with the wires attached to it and then reroute the wire over top of the box. I should have said that in the first place but felt like being a smartass since the answer to your question was so close to your post I guess Daggo is rubbing off on me!

I should also mention that even bestop didn't know if it would work on a '12 since I called them to ask and the woman was like *shrug*, beats me if it will work. I was like, ok....

I took a chance on it since it was half the cost of the tuffy and it works great. I actually installed the tuffy for my friend a week later and I am happier with the bestop box since it comes prelined with felt on the inside unlike the tuffy and it's half the cost. The tuffy drawer opens further but I like the fact that the bestop only opens about 2/3 of the way since I can keep my pistol even more concealed back there in that space between the drawer and how far it opens. You will be happy with it I think even if the company itself seems a bit clueless as to whether their own products will work or not...

Man, I run into that all the time. Seems like the folks on the phone should at least have an IDEA about their products.

Thanks for all the info.
