How was your morning? Better than mine I hope....

My Jeep saved my life today. Was travelling Northbound on a 2 lane county road, and a old guy in a Buick travelling Southbound tried to turn left across my lane the instant I met up with him. I had no time to react, just tried to hold on for the ride.

Glad you're ok. I see this a lot from people that have lost the competency to drive. I'm glad to see the jeep held up well, and always nice when the guy in the wrong takes a huge damage bill because of the stupidity.

Some people need a little financial incentive to hit the brakes, watch surroundings and be a better defensive driver. Sorry your jeep had to be involved in his lesson.

Think they'll total the jeep? Wondering if bent frame.

Dang, bro. Glad you're still with us.

Wonder if DRL would've helped? They're designed for just this sort of thing.

Wow glad you made it through that and I hope the other guy made it as well. Those photos make me wince twice..because of the Jeep damage and the fact that your Jeep is the same wonderful Hydro blue as mine. I can't help but think about my own Jeep.

I hope everything goes smooth as butter with your insurance and you get back on the road in a shiny new Jeep asap.

... I can't help but think about my own Jeep...
I think we'll all give our Jeeps a little extra hug tonight after seeing this.

Yeah, it was a wild ride for sure. I don't know what I'm more upset about, the fact I just bought those tires, or the fact I had like 30 hours in that bumper/winch setup.

I hope it is totaled.

The front axles is broken, and the drive shaft was rammed into the transfer case. I'm going to the wrecker yard this afternoon to get the rest of my belongings, I'll try to check the frame situation.

Glad to hear you are ok! To be considered "unsafe" by the perception of so many, our rigs can sure take a hit. I was in a bad wreck in mine a couple years ago, out of 4 vehicles involved mine was the only one not totaled. Granted I wish it had been. Damage was up there in dollar amount. Good luck, here's to hoping for a very smooth process to get you back on the road in a new jeep.

I was just looking at a flat fender build thread and saw a before picture of your Jeep......beautiful before this. Glad you are okay. The Jeep can be replaced.

That Sux !!

Likely a write-off will all that. Mine seemed almost superficial (other than laying on its side) but to repair everything adds up quickly. Enough of an impact to break the axle, shear the wheel off and pummel the transfer case is likely to add-up quickly to undo.

At least you seem all right, well other than your faults from before the accident. ;)

The only silver lining in a truly gloomy/sh!tty day is that at least you're near the overlap point where you can start ordering 2017s and still have access to pretty much most of what was 2016. Mine happened when I couldn't get a RubiHR in Baja and even the plain Rubicon out here wasn't really an option (3 months earlier coulda ordered from factory).

Again, the important thing is you weren't seriously injured, and it is very impressive how well the Wrangler holds up in these crashes. Yours would likely fit the "small overlap" scenario kinda well based on your photos, and that's a tough type of hit.

And people say wheel spacers are dangerous... looks to be the one thing still in place lol.

Glad you are ok.
