First I want to say thank you to Discount tire for getting me these rings for free.
I did not buy the wheels from them either

My PM to DT was a shot in the dark. Pretty much looking at other wheels.
Travis mentioned for me to try these hub rings first.

I have not had the best luck balancing these tires around here. it was bad,
I avoided the highway if I could.

First seeing the hub rings I was like "WTF" nothing to these things.
I think they are plastic ?

This morning on my way to work I jumped on the highway. Vibes are still there but the jittirs/tires jumping up and havoc rolling over uneven road is a lot less. Perfect NO but they work fantastic.

I will note, I always cross my lugs tightening making sure the tapers best center the wheel.

The only negative so far is my center caps don't work with the rings.
These things were a rusted mess anyway. I tossed them in the trash and will eventually paint my hubs black.

If anybody is having issues balancing and have lug centric wheels, try these things

Ken

I had custom hub centric rings made they are alloy and they were $25 a peice but absolutely a perfect fit and great peace of mind. My rims had a center bore of 78.3 mm and the stock wrangler is going from memory 71.5mm now I have nice snug fit and the lug nuts do not have to center the rim. The outfit is motorsports-tech.com and all their work is custom. I could not find any off the self centric rings that were an exact fit for my application.

I didnt put mine on and it runs fine. I didnt know they shipped them until I was opening what I thought were the center caps. Any reason I should put them on since I have no issues without them.

would you rather have the weight of your jeep supported by the lug nuts alone or by the hub and lug nuts. Every OEM manufactured wheel is hub centric so the OEM's think they are a good idea. Aftermarket wheels with the exception of a few, AEV is one, do not have the ability to make rims for every specific vehicle therefor generally have large hub bores so they can fit many different vehicles.

I have a slight jitter at speed with my MB TKO/ DT combo and I am wondering if I should try these ? How much are they and where can I get them ? My tires and wheels came from Discount tire direct and had them installed at the local DTD store.

I have the MB TKO's and don't use the rings and have zero vibration. I think a lot of tires out there are either poorly balanced or are slightly out of round. If you have a full size spare, try and swap out the tire(s) and see if you can eliminate the jitter.

www.motorsports-tech.com

compare to photo above in my post this is what it looks like before rings.

wheel is supported by the hub vs the lug nuts. There is a reason car manufacturers do this.

I am not sure of the cost. I'd pay a couple more bucks to have a aluminum/metal ring over the plastic though.
DT called Black rock and got the dimensions for me.

Interesting, it looks like I should get some of these to help keep my Chinese wheels stay centered.

Call DT.
I asked about hub rings when I first bought my wheels.
If I remember correctly, I was told they did not make a ring for my wheel diameter.

Or try the MS link that works

Measure and have them custom make a size. The stock size is not going to change.
If I were to guess there must be -.005 to -.010 clearance between the OD/ring - ID/wheel.

Nice find ^

I would still check with them. Like I said, hub rings were not available for me either.
Travis did say they had to be special ordered.

Rusty for sure!

What's the size of your hub rings? 83.06mmx71.50mm?

You could ask motorsports tech to custom make you a set.
