I Bought the Bestop Supertop NX Twill...

It fits my 2012 like a glove and is a fantastic top! As someone who has owned the MOPAR top as well, I really like this one because of the fabric.

I have 2 questions about this top I'm hoping someone can answer.

1) What exactly is the purpose of the bows across the front and back that brace into the door surrounds? I guess they put a little tension on the fabric when the top is up, but they don't give me a true 'topless' feel. Can I just take them off? Am I SUPPOSED to when the top is down?

2) Is there anything I can do to manage the fabric when I have the sunrider portion open? It just kind of slumps back there over the back seats and has gotten in a few of my passengers' way. The top came with a couple of small straps, but I don't see how they can help - and by the way I have no idea what those straps are for either.

Any advice would be great. Thanks!

1) I think the bows keep water from ever pooling anywhere.

2) I think the straps go around the bars after you fold the front portion back, so wind cant grab the folded back portion and lift it up and ripping the thing off.

I can't wait to get mine and install it. It should look great on my Billet '13 JKU. I'm glad to hear that you like it.

Thanks dwindeck. I still don't see how the straps have anything to go around or through. Anyone?

Stickbug PM me if you hit a hurdle on your install. I ran into a couple of snags, but overall it was fairly simple.

You have to learn the "W" fold for the top. Look in your owner's manual. If you do it right the top tucks back out of the way of the passengers' heads.

The bars are optional. Mine broke - the place you insert them. Bestop set me replacement parts but I have never felt the need for them.

You just wrap the straps around the bows on the sides and secure. The bow assembly can't open up that way. I don't use those anymore either.

Bestop trktop nx

The straps hold the rear from flapping around. They attach to the body lip right where the carpet meets the body. I had mine on with just the top, doors off 70 m.p.h. Just a little flapping.
