Any updates? I hope the dealership made this right.

If not, perhaps you could post their phone number and everyone reading this thread can call them up and ask them if it is Standard Operating Procedure to sell a vehicle that someone put a deposit on? Maybe we all call Jeep Cares and let them know what is going on? With enough of us calling, hopefully the Jeep stealership and/or Jeep Cares will make this right.

Forget subtlety: Get a buncha pitchforks, some torches and a rope and storm the dealership.

My son will be back in Anchorage this Friday. He will be stopping at the dealership to try to get resolution. I'll update everyone when I get more info from him.

Thanks for all the empathy and encouragement.

How awesome would it be if 50 or more Jeeps just showed up at that stealership? Imagine all the bad press they would get.

It isn't a SNAFU as much as it is a dealer who screwed one customer they'd made a contract with, because another customer was going to provide more profit.

$1,000 under invoice

3) My son gets a $500 military discount. This all comes up to over $3,000 savings.

4) My wife and I can fly up free from previous vouchers.

5) We can visit my son, daughter-in-law and grandson. Our oldest grand daughter moved up four years ago, also.

6) My wife and I will make a mini-vacation by coming down the west coast of Canada, visit some friends in Washington, stop at Yellowstone and the Black Hills on the way back.
I got mine from local dealer for $1000 under invoice. It sounds good to me and I don't have to go to Alaska.

I finally talked to my son after he got back in town. He had ordered the Jeep from Anchorage Jeep/Chrysler, not Lithia Jeep/Chrysler. My sincere apologies to Lithia!

He contacted Chrysler Customer Service, but the woman told him that it was a dealership issue and there was nothing she could do. She did take the dealership name. However, she never took the name or order number for the first one that my son had ordered. My son said that he felt like she really didn't care about our dilemma. My son did get a confirmation that the second Jeep has been ordered.

My son said that he had talked to the salesman on the phone, and he said that he had never seen this happen before. In my opinion, that's a bunch of B.S. My son is going to stop at the dealership and talk to them personally. I told him to go right to the GM or owner and not to let the sales people B.S. him.

I have a bad feeling about this whole thing. We have plane tickets to fly up on the 15th of May and need to start back within a couple of days.

I got the impresion that your son is in the military. If so, at least in the old days, when this ancient mariner was in the Navy, one hint from the command that the dealership could be put "off-limits" to military personnel, really got the attention of any business that may have dealt unfairly with sailors.

Good luck with your dealings and thanks for the update.

My son stopped at the dealership and talked to the GM. He claims that he had never seen this happen before. My son said that he was very apologetic and appeared embarrassed about the whole situation. He said that they had taken care of the problem (fired the salesman?). The new order had been placed March 14th (my birthday). The first Jeep order was a priority 4, this one has a priority 1 on it. It is scheduled to be completed by April 11th. It normally takes about four weeks to ship to Anchorage by barge. They may ship by rail to shorten to three weeks. However, they cannot guarantee that it will be there and ready to roll by May 15th. We are flying up on the 15th of May and need to start driving back within a couple of days. The GM said that they would make it right and fly us back to Wisconsin and then back to Anchorage at their cost if necessary. I hope it arrives as planned because I only have a two-week window of time to drive back. My son will try to do some additional negotiating on price when it arrives.

Terrible story, hopefully you don't have to fly back and forth a couple more times and it is ready to go on the 15th. Good luck!

They fired the salesman ?? Since when does a salesman make any decisons or sign anything without his boss approving ?? Thats not passing the smell test.

Agreed. They always check with their manager for everything. I call bull$hit too. The manager knew what was going on and if he did not, then he should have. Either way, the manager needs to be fired.
