I declare open season on squirrel

So my new JK was parked out front of my dads place and I came out to find one of those little rodents made a snack out my passanger side Hood latch!??

It was the shift change in the wheel under the hood and he was locked out. I saw that squirrel stomping down the street with a little lunch pail in his paw and he looked pissed. It would have been double overtime.

I actually lol'd at this thread...it reminded me of our demolished pumpkins at Halloween after the squirrels got a hold of them.

Tree rats are annoying.

I planted 100 flower bulbs for my wife in the fall and the squirrels dug all of them up within 2 days. Some of the little bastages carried them across the street and buried them in my neighbors yard. My wife saw one of them drop a bulb on the porch, it made eye contact with her before haulin' arse away with the bulb.

I heard on this forum that you can use peanut butter to restore the faded plastics on our Jeeps (which never sounded like a good idea to me). Maybe you had done that prior to The Squirrel Incident?

Ive had around 100 bull frogs jumping all over my jeep when i was bogged down in a forest up north. They were getting stuck in the rims, underneather the air dam, everywhere! This thread reminds me of that.

There are not a lot of mature trees where I live, so we don't have that many squirrels to deal with. But rabbits......uggggg.....they are everywhere. I can't have any plants because they eat them all and they breed like crazy.

Not sure what is worse. Of course, with so many rabbits, now the area is swarming with hawks....and I was about 50 yards from a coyote last week when I was out walking the dog.
--------------

Curious...what color was the squirrel? I split my childhood between the southside of Chicago....and....Des Moines. (Yeah...odd). One thing I do remember is that the squirrels in Iowa were always reddish brown, but the squirrels in the city were gray. I guess back then, they could not cross the Mississippi or something.

We have the gray ones in the NW suburbs. I remember the red ones when I was a kid in the NW corner of IL.

LOL - I'd seen that video before but it always makes me laugh. I wonder if the same squirrel ever returns for a second try?

Anyway, time for something like Rampage hood latches for the OP.

I had a cat in the neighborhood get up on my hood, because it was warm. Cats don't run like squirrels when you catch them. I walked back in the house, got my 22 cal pellet gun. I got the cat off the hood, then had to wash the JK. It went to the landfill. I take out squirrels on sight. They are just rats with fuzzy tails.

I hope you didn't shoot the neighbor kid's pet? That would not be cool.
