Haha so i bought a new 2012 jeep rubicon unlimited. Beefed it up and took it off roading. Well apparently i pushed it to it's limits cuz i ended up putting it on it's side. It was on it's right/passenger side for about 20 mins before we got it back on it's wheels. Not too much damage, just had to replace a door. But when i got in and tried starting it it turned over like it was about to start and then it shut off. No loud noises. No bending metal. And after that whenever i try to start it it doesn't turn over, all it does is make a little click. It sounds like it has to do something with the electrical. The battery is fine. I drained all the fluids. Cleaned all the plugs. Disconnected the battery for a few hours hoping to restart any flipped switches. I got nothing... my buddy keeps mentioning something about a rollover switch that you have to disengage, and when we read the manual, it said that it DOES have this feature in it. I guess all 2012 vehicles must have it. Some kind of switch to shut off the fuel pump. I just have noooo idea where it's located. I was hoping somebody could help me out.

First I have heard of it. Must be a 2012 added feature. I guess you may be the Forums first how to reset once you can contact the service department tomorrow.

I saw nothing in my owners manual about said switch. Even if it does exist, the engine should still crank but not start due to lack of fuel.

Remove the plugs and turn the engine over by hand with a socket and breaker bar on the crankshaft pulley bolt. Like Barrie said, it may be hydrolocked due to oil on top of the pistons. If you can get it to turn freely then try cranking it with the starter.

if it was on it's side for 20+ minutes two things might have happened.

1. water in the battery drained out leaving nothing to hold a charge with, therefore your clicking is just clicking the silonoid with no charge behind it..........check battery charge.

2. Most vehicles have an emergency fuel shut off when in a crash. If this fuel pump shut of is for an electric fuel injector the computer may not allow power to turn it over if if the shutoff is activated.......

That said I'd think it would be #1. Check the battery charge and then take it to the dealership since you have a 3 year / 36 month warranty

Lol I'll put up some pics in the morning. I didn't get a pic with it flipped. It was at night, but i got the aftermath haha. Thanks for the help you guys. I already checked the cylinders. Hydrolocked was my first concern but thank god it's not that. So i checked the battery and all the electrical is fine. I even shocked the piss out of myself haha. I just think it's some kind of safety switch or something in the computer. My friend said it's manditory not for vehicles to have a saefty shut off switch if you wreck. You just have to find it and restart it, but i spent hours searching the jeep and found nothing. The fuel pump is working fine too.. idk it's weird..

there ya go haha, like i said the damage isn't too bad, i just gotta replace a door and the skirts and she's good for round 2. i just gotta get her starting again.. there's soo many electronics under the hood. this new pentstar engine is nuts and so compact in there, i'd feel bad for somebody if they had to pull it out for some reason. oh and i can't figure out the problem, and it needs body work done anyways so i'm just sending it into the shop and letting them deal with it... i'll let you know what the estimate comes to be haha my guess is somewhere between 2-3,000 as long as nothing internal is damaged lol :punk::facepalm::punk::facepalm:

Is the sheetmetal on the door the only "real" damage? Hard to tell, but it looks if the other door and fenders are ok? If they have to get you a whole new door, I would keep that old one just for wheeling now. Let us know what the shop says when they get it started. Thanks for posting the carnage!
