I got stuck. Really stuck

Decided to try out some trails nearby. Took my JK with rubicon take offs with BFG mud terrains. Got out there and followed a trail marked (with a street sign, no less) as 1/2 loop road. Well to me, this means it loops around back to main trail, and is 1/2 the length of the full loop. Well, I was wrong. Now I think this means they were gonna make a full loop and only got half way. The tail was pretty much unused as far I could tell. That should have tipped me off. I got in a few muddy spots, but chugged right through. I thought, man these tires kick ass! So I kept going. Little bit hairy in few spots, but forge ahead. Nice deer stand out here. Then I'm headin into the woods, lots more mud. No sign of any kind of trail at this point. Keep going. Jeep is kickin ass. Now I'm deep in the sh*t and it's getting worse and worse, but he'll, it's a loop right? I'll come back out soon enough. Then I hit the spot and am deep in it. Black nasty thick mud. I've lost momentum. I stopped. I'm stuck. . No big deal tho, right? Well, no winch, and no one around. I hear gators croaking. I'm f*ked. Can't dig out. Can't pry out. Gotta walk out. Lucky I can hear the road and start trompin thru the jungle. I'm also lucky I brought my boots and could make a call. A few hours later I get the first of several guys out there to help me get out. All of these guys Attachment 1081090 Attachment 1081098 are like "yeah, don't worry, we WILL get you out." The first guy has what looks like a 1970 cj. Decent lift, but no huge wheels. He overheats 1/2 mile from my jeep. The second guy brings a F250 desiel, with lockers. He gets back in there, but still not close enough. The thing is 3/4 ton and sinking. But he digs up the swamp all to hell. Third guy comes out in a lifted suburban, 9" lift, 38" tires. He has 250' of cable and rope and straps, but can't get close enough. He says, "boy - you in never never land." as in what the hell were you thinkin? Never NEVER go back in something like this. Well sh*t. Now I'm looking at a bull dozer or helicopter. Now what. He has a buddy with a mud truck. Looks more like a monster truck. THAT guy gets out there and has very serious though about goin back in there. If he gets stuck, thats it. It's bull dozer time. Well, all these guys are up for the challenge, and are looking to boast to be the one who gets it. He says we do this fast loud and hard, and go home. He dogs that thing as fast as he can back there full throttle. Turns around, hooks me up. And we blast out of there like a bat out of hell. By God we made it. All of us head to toe in mud, including all the trucks. So, I spent most of the day gettin the mud off my jeep. There's no shame in turning around.

We went to Bridgeport OHV park two weeks ago. Met my nephew and son there. He just a winch installed. Told him we have had the jeep since 2008 and have never been stuck. That's right, he got stuck and we had to use the winch to get him out. Then we got stuck and he had to winch us out! I will be ordering a winch soon.

I did something like that in Florida sand with a full size blazer. Had to get a ditch witch RT90 to pull me and the F150 that tried to help out. Almost buried the ditch witch too, that would've been a costly tow...

Yours could've been bad too...

Mine was in 05-06 before camera phones were worth crap...

Must be a lot of cameras left at home. Don't let the burglars know.

This is what I bring with when I'm alone and playing in the mud.
Great insurance.
But I'm sure you had more fun by not having one.......this time.

Look at it this way.... Look what it took to get him out. Nothing else could even get near a relatively stock jeep.

They were even seriously talking about getting a mini track hoe out there.

And yes, I'm in the market for a winch.

If your often in the bush that deep and alone, you may want to consider a quality firearm as well as the winch.

gators, panthers, black bears, snakes, packs of domestic dogs that have gone wild so to speak. They know when you are in trouble and when your alone. They just know.

Yeah, I suggested that to him on our first trip out there. After we tromped though there the first time, he made it point to bring some heat the next time. Brought a little bitty thing, probably would not even faze a gator. But that trip we had the swamp truck, which was loud as hell, and probably ran off anything within 2 miles.

I didn't buy them a steak or beer, I gave em a stack of Benjamin's.

He said the worst of all is a pissed wild momma hog. That place is loaded with em.

That mud is impossible to run in. He asked me if I could climb a tree, and was not joking around.

.44 mag. Hogs and gators, I'd want something big. That is a testimony to a stock Jeep. All those lifted trucks and they couldn't get close.

Hell yeah. And those BFG mud terrains. Those things are the real deal. Not 37s or anything, but they got me in some real trouble.
