I hate you guys!

Lol... Just kidding.... I must say that I came to this forum only to get a few small ideas for personalizing my very first Jeep, but after looking at all this AWESOME rides, I now want a lift and oversize tires! Ugh.... I'm gonna go broke because you guys tantalize me with all these badass machines!
Here's my question.... I need to add a lift and I'm looking in the 2.5-3" range.... My mechanic said to get a good one as he had someone who had one in a Jeep, ask him to remove it because they didn't like the ride and performance handling with it..... What makes a "good" lift kit?
Thank you....

I have a teraflex 2.5 in lift and 35 in BFG KM2 mud terrain tires. I like the TF lift because it is better than stock ride. It also costs a bit more than some others but it is worth it. The TF lift kits wont sag like others can. I love mine and highly recomend them. I also recomend the KM2 tires as well. They provide great grip and look good and are quiet.

I like Tera Flex and AEV, for different reasons. Tera Flex is better for a Jeep that will see a lot of moderate to difficult trail use. AEV is more for easy to moderate trails and I think it rides better on the street than Tera Flex.

It really comes down to whether you want the Jeep to have better Offroad or onto ad manners IMHO.

I have had both kits in the last 2 years. Let us know if you have more questions. Your mechanic really gave you good advice to put on a quality lift to begin with. Heed his/her advice and you will be happy and safer

I apologize that I can't post pictures currently due to being over my quota.

There are plenty of pictures online though.
