I just gotta ask for some photos of the 'trunk'...

Hey all, I am a pretty new poster here but have tried searching for this everywhere, and aside from going out to the lot (i can't, I live and work pretty far out) i dont know where else i can figure this out.

Do you guys thing you could post some photos of the backseat and trunk of a 2dr, 2011 or 2012 wrangler?

The reason I ask is that, for work, i need to be able to transport coolers (not filled with beer, but some things just as important), and i was really hoping i could fit a standard cooler in the trunk space without folding down the seat.

Currently I am not a jeep owner but would love a wrangler and if i can fit 4-5 coolers (yeah, standard bought at wal-mart picnic coolers) into the wrangler with the seats folded it would really ease my mind.

Anyone got a cooler or two and wanna take some photos for me? Its the weekend, someone here has to be able to help out haha

Thanks!

Get an unlimited then you won't have a problem. The 2dr will be hard to accomplish that without doing a hitch tray or spare tire tray or both.

If i fold up the back seats, or even remove them could i fit 4-5 coolers back there? I seems large enough in photos..

I didn't really want the unlimted because they seem pretty big and SUV-ish, I am not a big van/suv kinda guy so i wanted to stay small and compact.

I can fit a two-four in the trunk space of my TJ...probably the same with a 2-door JK.

Yea with the sat out or flipped up you can but you said you didn't want to do that. Maybe you'll have to get the safari system.

You can get 4 in there as long as they arent huge. Gotta remove the seat though,

Flipped up shouldn't be an issue i guess, is this including stacking on top of each other?
Its not an everyday work occurance, but i get mileage for dropping coolers off at the labs, and i get my regular pay but really i am just driving around instead of doing real 'work' seems win win to me haha
But if i can't fit the cargo in the jeep i cant volunteer...
Maybe if someone could take some measurements of the trunk space, or the rear space with the seats flipped?

Thanks again all...

You will have plenty of room for 4 (or even 8 if you stack) coolers once you fold the seat forward.

By the way, the new "fold and tumble" back seat in the 2011-12's is very well engineered and extremely easy to use. I was amazed at how much room it opens up in the back. You certainly don't have to remove it.

I'lll take a picture when I get home if you want.

Not the best pic but here's one I found. The seat is folded half way so you can see the size if it wasn't folded, but it also tumbles up forward and sits on its head for more room.
Maye 1 cooler if you're lucky depending on the size with seats up. Fairly nice room with them up.

Thanks Shane, one would be okay, so that means that two if i stack them. Stacking with the seats up would be ideal since the seat backs would prevent sliding.

glowinghowl - yeah, if you have the time i would be great to see as much as possible, I am really relieved that this might work out for me, better then i though initially haha

Thanks everyone keep'em coming !

When we first got our 2-door JK I was though "this is not going to work", until I tried the the fold and tumble seats. "fold" was a huge imprivement, but after the "tumble" I was like , that's quite a bit of room! Certainly enough for $750 CostCo runs.

There are plenty of tiedown points in there, so some straps can be used to hold unstable loads in place.

Taking the back seat out on a 2dr gives plenty of room for most anything.

With the seat full out removed in the 2 door it's a very usable space! Nice!

Agree, on paper the 2 door jk is not much bigger than the Tj.
I removed the seat in my jk for the first time and was like--wow!!

There is a lot more space than my Tj had
I was really surprised.

I don't think the 4 door rear seat is removable.

And all JK's are the same 07-12

I took the back seat out day 1 and there is indeed, a lot of room. I added a receiver hich basket and THAT added a ton of carrying capacity.

If the coolers your dropping off can go outside as well as in you can easily fit a minimum of four BIG ones in this way. The tote in the back of mine is LARGE and is full of "things".

Please excuse the dog hair all over....damn mutt sheads like a snow storm----but I love him!

Yep, taking the rear seat out was the first thing I did. I originally did it to transport my wheels to the tire shop to get them mounted. I don't think it will be going back in unless I absolutely need to transport more people.

With that seat out I fit 5 stock 16's with tires mounted and a 33" spare. Lots of room back there.

Thanks guys, it looks pretty roomie in there! Its such a nice square storage space, i bet it makes stacking things and storing stuff way easier then in a compact car backseat and trunk.
I would rather not tow anything, haha If i was just gonna tow a rack i might as well by the 4dr, it would probably handle better haha

Can these back seats fit a grown human? like how painful is it for you guys to actually sit in the back seats?
There is no point in leaving them in if no one can fit in them haha

No adult can fit, IMO. I have my front seats all the way back because of my height. It is difficult to let the seats up to put my breifcase or computer bag back there. Fortunately, I can just put them in the passenger's seat.

Small humans fit no problem.... Once they get in. That right there is the hard part. Sitting is easy. But I'm small, 5'5"/ 105....
