I like lift but

will it adversely affect my ride. When I was younger I had the 1986 Full Size Bronco with a 8 inc h Bick Dick Suspension lift with 15 inch wheels and 35 inch MT tires with a dual steering stabilizer yatta...yatta...yatta but it rode like a dump truck! I want to put some lift on my Jeep but i am at an age now I still want a decent ride. Can I have both? A lift with nice tires but keep my smooth ride?

If theres a will, theres a way. You'll probably have to make a custom lift to get it the way you want but it can be done

yeah it affects the ride. the higher you go, generally the worse it gets. on a JK though at 2-4" you stay pretty damn good with decent shocks and soft load C tires

If you get the spring and damping rate right, it rides smoother than stock. I know mine does.
As for aerodynamics, ooops. MPGs are the penalty, not ride quality.

My lift has made the ride smoother, especially over bumps in the road & washboard.

I know that pictures never do an obstacle justice, but this hole is 40" and was one son-uvva-gun to hop through. Departure and breakover angles made it impossible to take this line before the lift.

Nice. I have a Unlimited X that the previous owner swapped Rubi wheels and tires for. Honestly I just want bigger tires with the stock wheels and a 2.5 inch skyjacker lift with eh hydro shocks. I would like to know how big I could go with the tires and the 2.5in Skyjacker lift and keep the ride comfortable on the road.

Physics is a bitch. If you lift any vehicle you adversely impact some areas of handling and ride. As others mentioned you can do some things to reduce or eliminate the effects, but the vehicle would ride better with those measures taken and no lift.

What it comes down to it whether the advantages you get from a lift either in offroad capability, looks, or both are worth the cost.

LOL, yeah but Jimbo I bought a Jeep bone stock and it rides 10x better than my Denali XL, so if this is what a Jeep ride is I want it. Seriously, this thing rides better than my Denali...and costs 1/4 less!!! LOL!
