I think I ripped myself off

I got a used 2012 jku for $31k and now I think I ripped my self off. I went looking at the 2013 to day and it seems like I could have got a brand new 2013 with the same features for a little bit more. Tell me what you guys think. What I got is a certified per owned 2012 with 15k miles for 31k. From factory it had rubicon wheels/tires, hard top, and power everything. Auto transmission. Did I rip myself off or would all those upgrades have jumped up a 2013 price.

Yeah that's a bit steep for a 2012 with 15k miles.

How long ago did you get it? Any chance of them taking it back and you getting the 2013?

Stop thinking about it right now. The sooner you get over it, the sooner you can enjoy it even more . . . I made a similar mistake except it WAS A HOUSE

if it came from the factory with Rubicon wheels it might be a rubicon if so that is not bad at all.

Yeah it's not a rubicon. I wish but for $31k it wasn't. How do you talk to them about taking it back for a 2013? I got it 4 weeks ago

last week I bought a stripped 2013 jku auto hardtop sirius, 26.5k new.
rubicon wheels are only worth about $650 if they have 15K on them.

yours sounds pricey, but they are all used shortly after you buy them.

Typically, once the bumper crosses the curb, it's yours. I'm sure they'll be willing to take it in trade, but they'll pay you less...or they'll make up the difference elsewhere in your deal.

My advice - don't look back. Drive it and enjoy.

Can we see pics? You never said what model it is, just that it had Rubicon wheels. Sure they are not Sport S wheels? They are the same, just a shade lighter.

Really it's before that. Once you sign and become owner, depreciation already starts kicking in

I agree with the above, just try to forget about it and enjoy your new ride!

But yeah, the used market on Wranglers is insane. Every lightly used one I looked at was priced near what a new one would run. Thats why I bought new off the lot.

These are just a few decent deals I found, and I looked for a total of 3 minutes.

2013 Jeep Wrangler BRAND NEW SAHARA 4X4 MANUAL

2013 Jeep Wrangler Sahara

2013 Jeep Wrangler **BRAND NEW** SAHARA 2013 MODEL, DUAL TOPS ONLY $2

http://www.autotrader.ca/a/Jeep/Wran...howcpo=ShowCPO

And by no means are those solid prices. I could go at least 1k lower on each if I tried. My advice is to forget about it. If you love it, it should be priceless.

No, it's when you drive it off of the lot. Technically, it is still theirs until you do so.

I thought you had 30 days... I could have sworn that my Texas dealership said I had 30 days to return my Jeep and cancel the contract.

Maybe it different in Texas. But there is a three day slot in Louisiana, thirty day slot for a private sale.

Varies by state.
We don't get any type of cooling off period in Illinois.

OP should just chalk up to experience...which is learning exactly what you needed to know right after you needed it the most.

Life goes on...enjoy the new ride....

You have a new to you Jeep . Now go out and enjoy it.

A friend asked if I could have scored a better deal on my new, but now used JKUR if I had waited or haggled for another week. I told him that I had no idea because I quite looking at Jeep prices as soon as I picked mine up.

I had tooled around a bit but it needed to be red and 4 door. The other one I found and liked was $28k with 26k miles but had a 3.8. It had to be red with hard top.

If you really want to see if you overpaid, go to this thread: http://www.wranglerforum.com/f33/201...ad-101089.html

Use the first post there to figure out all the options your 2012 has. Add up what the price would have been if it was new.Campare that to what you paid.

Then go to this thread and do the same for a new 2013: http://www.wranglerforum.com/f33/201...ad-161113.html

Look at the prices you come up with and decide if it's worth it to you to trade the 2012 back in.

They saw you coming. Hope you plan on keeping it for 3 years until you get right side up. If it's any consolation, take pride in the fact that you are feeding the salesman's family very well this month and probably next, and the next. Sorry.

Just wondering what kind of discounts you got to get a brand new Rubi for less than 31k. Please share with the rest of us, I will go to the dealership today and trade my 10' in if its possible.
