I ordered my Jeep yesterday and added the slush mats to the order, but was wondering if that would be in place of the standard carpeted ones or do I get both? If so, I probably would have taken the standard one and bought the slush ones from the parts department instead.
At least the normal carpet is still there under the slush mats, so there's not a bare painted floor underneath. Still, it would have been nice to get both mat sets. After all, the carpet mats are part of the base install and slush mats cost about the same when installed during vehicle assembly or purchased after the fact. In a way, you pay for both sets of mats but get just one when purchased as part of the build.
Last June I ordered our '14 JK and had the same reaction as Obiwan. Nonetheless, I've loved my Wrangler every minute I've had it. I just mentally kick myself in the behind a little bit because I didn't do careful research at the time of ordering.
When I ordered mu jeep, I ordered the slush mats too. My salesman caught it and made an "executive decision" and cancelled the slush mats. Then sold them to me as a dealer add on. Same price, but that way I got the carpet mats too. I appreciated what he did for me... have never set foot on the carpet mats... but I got'em!

I always make my deal and then get the dealer to throw in slush mats from the parts dept. Has never failed and I get both. Then next owner basically gets new carpet mats, which makes the Jeep interior look cleaner.
That's some BS. So, if you order a Jeep without Mopar slush mats, you get the carpeted floor mats. In other words, they come with the Jeep from the factory. However, if you pay $95, you get Mopar slush mats but they take away your carpeted floor mats that came from the factory. Um, does anyone else see that as robbery?
I was wondering about this too as my Jeep came with Mopar slush mats but I did not get the carpeted floor mats too. Having the Mopar slush mats now, I must admit that I like them more than the Quadratec mats I had on my '14 2-door, and I think the Mopar 4-door mats for $95 are a better deal than the Quadratec mats for a 4-door.

Weathertech mats are my preference in every vehicle - pricey yes, but great way to retain value for selling the vehicle later - especially if you have kids and the laws of gravity in your particular vehicle seem to apply more heavily to chocolate milk
