If you decided to sell your Jeep, how would you come up with your asking price? I've had some thoughts about whether or not I would like to sell my 2011 and purchase a 2014. The numbers are all over the place, as to what it's supposedly worth. I know Wranglers hold their value better than the average vehicle but most of the numbers seem to good to be true. From NADA and KBB, roughly $31,000 - $32,000. I paid $33,000 for it almost three years ago. I don't need to sell, but if the numbers are this strong, it's a no brainer! So back to my question, how would you decide how to price your Jeep if you decided to sell?
Yes. If the prices are too close, you may lose out. You want to find out what one comparable to yours is selling for. Then drop yours a grand or two and see if you get any bites.
Also look on Ebay to see what they are selling across the country. I bought mine on Ebay and compared local prices to across the country to determine if it was priced reasonably...
That's how I ended up trading the TJ for my JKU. The sales guy was a friend and would just hand me keys to test drive stuff. He was pushing to have me drive a 2 door, I told him if I ever get a new Jeep I want a LJ for the extra room, so then he had me test drive the JKU. Now I wish I had the 2014 for the better EVIC. Next will be a diesel if Jeep ever makes them for the US.
Forgot my original point. If I were selling my JKU tomorrow, I'd being trading it in for a diesel Wrangler for at least what I owe on my loan currently, and transferring some aftermarket parts over to the new one if they fit.
resale on wranglers in general is nuts....I own a car lot in ozark, mo and I go to auctions every week...it is insane what dealers pay for these things at the sale
How much would you pay (what is it worth) to buy one like yours, with those mods, in a different COLOR?
Local market rates (for sold Wranglers) are the best benchmark.
I bought a new 2013 Sport manual, 2-dr, soft-top ($22,600) in August and believe I could recoup that (plus nearly all mods $3K) within a 2-yr period. not a bad hobby :bop:

Hopefully so. That's really the good (and bad) thing about jeeps. When one is a couple years old or so and still worth about the same as a new one, it makes it hard to sell at a premium. I thought about purchasing used before I got mine. However, the asking prices for used were so close to the new ones, I think I got a better deal going new.
I'd go to my bank and ask them how much they would loan someone to buy that vehicle. I'd add anywhere from $500-$2000 to that depending on the vehicles age and condition.
Probably not even needed to Post...but my Jeeps are paid for...so what would it take for me to sell? What I think it would take to replace them.....and honestly most people won't pay that...their mine and I don't want to sell!!!!
