If I went the SYV route again it'd be a 4Runner but I'm leading toward replacing this with a pickup. I miss the utility and the V8. I'd love a Raptor but that's out of my budget so a mid-trim truck from any of the brands except Nissan is on the radar now. I only keep vehicles 2-3 years so the Jeep will likely go away next spring or the one after if I keep on "schedule".
I'm doing it..; I no longer have any trucks. Makes so many things so much easier. So if I had to sell the Jeep, I'd get a new Ram 1500 Outdoorsman 4x4 crew cab with the 5.7L. Or the same in 2500 with the 6.4L. Can't decide; 2500 is mostly overkill, but the 1500s are a little light for the fully loaded travel trailers that we're looking at.
Although I'd be extremely hard pressed to sell the Jeep... I'd lose most of the money I've put into it making it mine (and I haven't even lifted it or added new tires..!) and it's just a great little rig. I would completely regret selling it. Ideally, I'll keep it AND get the truck. And my third dream vehicle is either an 02 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 or a brand new Camaro SS.
Well my Jeep is not my daily driver, it is my FUN vehicle, so I wont be trading it in.
My 2007 RAM with a Lifetime powertrain warranty is getting ready to turn 200K, it has been a Great truck, not really planning on getting rid of it either...
But..... if I was to purchase something NEW most likely a RAM Power Wagon would be it.
I like the new Honda Ridgeline. I like the storage and power outlets.
If I had to go to one vehicle. I would sell my JKU and Ram 1500. Otherwise I am keeping the current vehicles as long as I can.
You should see the resale values on Raptors. I sold my 2014 with 26k miles on it for more than I paid new for it. I listed it on 1 site and had a buyer with a few days. Freaking insane!
if i were to be at the same job, id get a new jku, probably a rubi. If my business takes off then itll be a 2dr hypergreen rubi with colormatched roof and fenders. i wanna build a 2dr hyper so bad!
If it was a few years from now and I had the positive equity... a Hard Rock. If I was more interested in something different, a truck or SUV just big and strong enough to pull my car without being a monstrosity. Maybe a diesel Canyon crewcab loaded to the gills. Or a Power Wagon if I didn't care about the size.
Well if my 2016 JKU had to go away, most likely I'd buy a Tacoma....I was looking at trucks too in new vehicle search...I like Dodge too but I don't really need a full size truck.
Would like a Unimog but it would be little heavy duty for a daily driver.
I sold my 2015 JKU and got into a Corvette. Waiting for the JL pickup and if for some reason I'm not happy with it when it comes out, I'd go for a four door Raptor for sure.
Id get another JKUR - Purple instead of Hydro. If only they would allow us to build 2017s on the site.
