Ignition key chime question

I like to park my 11 JKU and have the stereo playing with the doors open. I cannot do this because in the accessory mode when I open the drivers door the chime starts to warn me that the key is in the ignition. Is there any way around this, or a setting I can change to eliminate this issue?

Only one that I can think of pull the fuse, like you would when the doors are off. The fuse box is under the hood, check your manual for the right fuse. There is only one issue I can see if you have electric windows and locks they wont work any more. OR find the audible alarm box and disconnect the wire. I did that in my TJ....

Take the doors off.

I've removed the bell before but that was in my Hyundai commuter. It just unplugged. Easy as pie. You might lose other "important" dings but I can't think of any thing I want the Jeep to ding at me about. Maybe leaving my lights on but I usually can figure that out by all the light emitted...duh!

thanks, I haven’t had the doors off yet but I am planning on taking them off during Jeep Beach so I hope when I unplug them the chime doesn’t work then. I do have electric windows with hard doors.

Just unplug the wiring harness on the driver door. The ding doesn't sound when the doors are off, so pulling the harness will disable it.

Undo the wiring on both doors, but leave the doors on if you want. The chime won't ding with them unplugged. Also, the interior lights won't work if they are disco'd.

Open your doors, tailgate etc use your key or a screwdriver etc...and manually lock the mechanism. The computer thinks the doors are closed. JUST REMEMBER to push the door button before CLOSING!!! I still forget sometimes.
