Illumination of cockpit

So when I had this Dodge Avenger rental while my Jeep was in repair for the new cylinder head, I noticed that it had nice LED lightings for the glove box, the center box between the seats and the dash board area below the heater controls.

Has anyone ever installed such in a JK Wrangler cockpit (11 and later)? Are there MOPAR parts that work without having to modify too much?

Thanks,
Felix

MOPAR makes a footwell and underseat LED lighting kit. Part # 82212347

Here's an example site that sells it. You can find other options via your favorite search engine.

Jeep Wrangler 4-Door Interior Lighting (Part No: 82212347): MoparOnlineParts.com

It is pretty dark in the jeep at night and when I would drop friends off at night, they could never find the door handles. So I installed LED lights in my doorhandles, center console box, cup holders, and front dash at the bottom. I didn't buy a kit I just bought everything and made it. The only thing I am still trying to find is the wiring that turns on the cabin lights, so I can wire to that. So for now I just have it on a separate switch.

I just had some lights installed in my Rubicon.
Let me get you a picture when it gets dark.
Cool factor is there but I really did it because it was just to dark IMO.

I replaced my dome lights with LEDs...

replaced my dome lights with LEDs
not nuance lighting, but if it's dark and you're getting in or out, these light up the interior--see what's on the floor, etc.
remove old lights, push in new...cheap and impressive [~$18/pair] for a three minute no muss-no fuss mod

On my 2010 it's on the passenger side footwell. Yellow wire with a thin white stripe

I installed some hidden lights in one of my old trucks and just tied into the fuse box in the cab. If you know some basic wiring then I recommend running your own. You can do it for cheap with the look that YOU want. I think you would like the outcome.

If you don't mind wiring and such you can get those Christmas tree led light strings on sale and then make up your own fixtures with dimmers and whatever else you could think of. I bought a set of white ones and found that three of them in series was just right for 12 volts to get good light output without making them get too warm. That was 3 individual leds not three strings, so I just cut them in groups of 3 for wiring up for rocks lights, interior footwell lights and such.

I have a million ideas for placement of lights like this.

Where did you folks get your colored lights?

Really would help if I knew how to wire anything...

Sounds like a lot of work to solve a simple problem. Isn't there are 2 map lights already above for finding the door handles?

What a **** photoshopped photo. Nice fake background and fake LED lighting. Maybe someone has these installed and has a real one.

Kind of rice, but if you like them, that's cool. Kids will dig them for sure.

This may not be exactly what you are looking for. But it was quick and easy to install. I bought 2 Sylvania 3led bulb push button fixtures and used double sided tape to stick them to the roof. They don't illuminate the footwell the way a dedicated wired set up would, but again it was easy. I plan to put two more in the rear seats as well.

I have added LED lights to a few cars in the past, but I'm thinking of leaving the Jeep alone. If any of my passengers need light in the footwell, it gives me an excuse to pull out the 3 D-cell Maglite custom mounted to the side of drivers seat frame rail.
