Their website has a PDF that explains it all.

Heavy-Duty Steel Cable Winches by Rugged Ridge

At the bottom right click the PDF. Good to go.

It goes on the tie bar/rails above the winch cable and it is two long hex screws that thread in to pinch it on the rails. Make sure the wires are above the rails and between the brackets. The screws thread from the back to front. The other bracket bolts to the one thats on there to create like a C to clamp on the rails. Do you have the other pieces to mount it angled or level?? You just have the base plate thing on right now.

ok, a. i didnt get two long screws, and secondly i understand it sits on the rails. their is still no way to attach the brackets to the box. it came with 10 small screws for this, but none of the holes on the box are threaded

Sorry I meant the screws. They just thread through at the rear rail. The base plates are screwed to the flat plates they gave you to pinch it to the base. The flat bars go under the raised black parts on the box, the plates you have in the top photo go above and is screwed to the plates.

Here is a picture from my Smittybilt winch that should help you if you have not figured this out yet. Once you figure it out you will most likely kick yourself because it really is very simple. Hope this helps!

Here is another picture that might help you. This setup allows you to mount the solenoid at an angle. The brackets slide behind the black tabs on the back of the solenoid.

I hope you got it on ok. Did you or anyone else swap your battery out for one with more CCA for the winch or are you going to run the factory one with it.

I went through the exact same thing. The metal part under the solenoid is curved enough that you cannot screw the two parts of the mounting bracket together. I struggled with it for a while and even had my wife look at it in case I was losing it after a long day of install. I ended up having to mount the solenoid over the motor instead of over the spool because I couldn't get it to work. It's not physically possible with the parts they supplied.
