I'm joining the party.. My 2015 Sahara!

Well it's official as of today.. I went from two German sedans to a Wrangler Unlimited

I drove up to the Jeep dealership today as my S4 that I was waiting to sell sold over the weekend and I ended up leaving with a Black 6 Speed Sahara. Black wasn't my first color choice as I really wanted the Anvil grey, but I am happy with Black I would say it was my second choice.. I think it looks great and driving it is a ton of fun. Huge change coming from a stable of a 550hp Audi and a Jetta, but it is a welcome change after many years of the same thing. I look forward to the ownership of the Jeep and I already have a few things in mind I'd like to do.

-Grab handles
-Rubber mats
-Intake
-LED Lights for the Fogs.. Unsure where to find them but I've seen pics of the fogs changed out with a cluster of 4 or 5 bright LEDs that look great.

Any recommendations on any of those items I would appreciate!

6 Miles... Haha

-Mike

Congrats! What made you want to make the switch? Have you owned a Jeep before?

I've had a few "luxury" cars since 2000 (2 BMWs, 3 Infinitis) and haven't been as excited about a vehicle as I am about the Jeep on order.

I hope you beat the dealer up over the 6 miles. I mean, anything after 5 miles isn't really considered "new" anymore.

Seriously, though congrats on the new Jeep! I'm hoping mine will be here in the next two weeks (a 2015 Sahara as well).

Welcome.

Your 2015 dash looks just like my 2012 except my ambient temperature reads 98*!

Welcome to the Addiction!

I suggest maybe swapping out the intake for a set of LED headlights on your mod list.

Pretty Jeep, black is great unless you actually want to keep it clean. Mine can't stay clean. If you are talking about an intake for horsepower or speed, save your money. It won't help.

I just picked up my 2014 JKU Sahara a few months back. It looks just like yours. I also wanted the Anvil but my Son wanted black. My father took my black 2012 JK Sahara off my hands so I could get the Unlimited so at least he and I match now since I let my son pick the color. Congrats. Btw, I ordered the Tread Lightly Mats from Quadratec and love them. I'm in the Northern VA area so I am so glad I got the mats to deal with the weather and constant dust/dirt living in a land of ever widening highways, road construction and traffic.

Enjoy.

X2. I've had intakes before....can't say they really helped much, but then again, I didn't have a before and after dyno to really find out.

I have read a lot about this, but I'm not an engineer, so take my Internet advice for what it's worth: I think unless you're also going to do an exhaust, and change the computer to compensate (add more fuel so you don't run lean) for the greater amount of air you're taking in, that intake will just be for show, or negligible hp difference.

Yes, huge difference. My S4 had H&R coilovers, track density motor/tranny mounts from 034, an Apikol Rear Diff mount, and a huge rear sway bar. That car was on rails even at 60-70 mph you could go back and forth like a race car warming up tires.. I think if I did that in the Wrangler I'd be tumbling down the road lol! I was ready for the change though.. I told my gf down the line she has to be ready for me to own a GT3!

Placed my first order from Quadratec.. haha

Their floor mat front and rear combo
Black Grab Handles for the front
Clothes Hangar for the rear..

I have to think about a cargo liner for the back still because I have the built in sub from the Alpine system which most cargo liners will cover. I guess worst case I can try to cleanly cut up one but I'll do that in a bit I'm not too concerned right now.

EDIT: Nevermind, forgot the '15 had the new funky sub

I was doing some reading this morning on disablign the Hill Assist.. I may have to play around with it off to see if I like it because I feel like a werido when I overrev it to get it going sometimes. My Audi was too old school for that stuff!

I like driving it more and more each day. It was really weird climbing into it the first couple of days thinking I don't have sedans anymore, rather I have this huge (to me) truck that now has me sitting even with big SUVs on the highway haha.. Once I get my mats tonight and I find some spare time in the coming days I'll take some nicer shots with my SLR.

Yeah, I like the idea though to have it flat in the back area so you don't waste space. The sound system is good too, the Alpine system is nice.

I'm looking for some suggestions here.. I want to do LED fogs and upgraded headlights possibly.. I feel like if I do the fogs you are stuck having to do something to the headlights or it will look funny (color wise). I don't like the idea of putting an HID bulb in the halogen housing.. The cheapest method I would guess is just getting a whiter halogen bulb, possibly from Slyvania like the silverstar or whatever it's called.

Is this what I want for the fogs for the cleanest look? http://www.inspired-engineering.com/...IE%2DJkspecial

Welcome to the Jeep family!!

I'm still fairly new to Jeeps as I traded in my 2009 BMW 335i in March for a 2014 Rubicon. No regrets at all!

Nice! It sure took me a few days to look @ the Wrangler and say yep, that's mine.

I just ordered those cube lights for the fogs.. After reading a bunch of good reviews and seeing them installed I will get them and put them on and then see how the headlights look.. I would prefer to just throw a bulb in there than do anything more invasive than that at the moment.

Will post pics when they are on

Welcome

Welcome to the "family", the forum, AND the Jeep wave (you can read about it either online or in any Jeep forum). Your quota of fun has just been increased!

Like you I wanted the Anvil and the local dealer did not have it in inventory. Dealerships will only spend LIMITED time attempting to find what you want as whatever they have on their lot is the "perfect vehicle for you". I had been told an incorrect cutoff date to order from the factory so missed the order deadline by a day. I ended up finding what I wanted by checking online dealership inventory. I finally found a dealer that had a 10A JKU in Anvil with the options that I wanted in transit to them.... but they were 300 miles away. I negotiated a price with the local dealer then had them bring it in for me. That way I got what I wanted and am able to take advantage of any "specials" given by the selling dealer.

I feel like an idiot.. I opened up my center console today to organize a few things and pulled out these plastic bags with things in them that I thought were for the soft top when I orignally was poking around on Monday.. Turns out they are FOUR HANDLES AND COAT HOOKS! DAMMIT! lol.. Well, will be returning those items to Quadratec .. My mats arrive today which is good because I'm taking it on a 600 mile trip this weekend.
