I have noticed that many of the members here have upgraded many parts of their JK's...so here is a question...what did you do with the old stuff? I am ordering a Rugged Ridge XHD front bumper but I have no idea what to do with the old OEM bumper...it is less then 6 months old so chucking it doesn't seem very economic...
So what did you guys and gals all do with your old bumpers?
I'm starting a collection at the side of my house unfortunately. I tried to sell my stock bumper on craigslist without success at $50. After that didn't work I saw someone leaving a body shop with a crushed corner on their stock bumper. I told the guy I would "give" him the bumper installed for $50 and he never called. Seems like everyone around here would rather upgrade to the fog lights or aftermarket bumpers.
OEM bumper is in the barn along with the weak coil spring that I will be lucky to remember to sell for scrap some day. Now I figured I might be able to sell the 3.73 gears if I can find the right person wanting to get rid of those nasty 3.21's

I gave my front bumper plastic to a guy that gave me his FEDEX account. No cost to me, so I don't really care that he said he would send me $25 for it. Sold my silver Sahara accents to another WF member. And sent my rear tow hook to another member for the cost of shipping. Still have the 2 front tow hooks, if anybody needs them. I saved the bolts.
Threw the rear bumper away since it got trashed in the accident.
Unexpected Upgrade and Jeep Karma go hand in hand.
Keep your stock parts. Store them away. In a few years when you're ready to upgrade to the new Diesel Rubicon model, swap all the stock parts back on to your Jeep and sell it in stock condition with a bunch of lightly used parts.
Then sell your aftermarket parts on eBay or Craigslist to get 1/4 to 1/2 what you paid for them.
You might find a 4x4 place that sells used parts. There is one near me. However, they said they couldn't buy my stock bumper because they had to many. They might give me something for it (or at least knock $20 off if I buy something from them). They did say they could buy my factory side steps. I ended up ordering some online because they didn't have the ones I wanted. My factory sides steps have been on CL and the classifieds here for a few weeks...no interest so far! I have a basement so it's not that big of a deal but I hate storing crap. Anybody want some side steps for cheap???
I also gave away my original mirror brackets to a member here who bought a Jeep with the relocation kit and wanted to restore it to the OEM position. The Karma paid off because he sent me a gift that I felt was worth way more than the brackets.
