Informal Poll-10A Rubi Black Seat Preference

For the 10A Rubi Optional black seats, do you prefer:

1. Black leather with red stitching?

2. Black leather with black stitching?

(#2 is reported as the current option besides all red leather seats option for interior)

My preference is black with red stitching!

Would expect them to tie the jeep's red accents in better.

I chose red because I liked it better but they should have done red stitched black seats IMO.

Black leather with red stitching - no questions asked!

It makes sense because the rest of the interior already IS black with red stitching (steering wheel and center console both are black with red stitching).

Laugh all you want, my fourth wrangler is on order and it will rock. However, instead of hating or whining, I have hope to show Jeep through the thread that maybe a majority view that might demonstrate a positive change or adjustment to their current decision. So do you want to help and vote for a preference or poke at a fellow jeep enthusiast that hopes for a positive change from Jeep?

My preference wouldn't be leather at all. Cold as ice in the mornings and hot as hell on hot days. And if you have the top off it will only be worse. I vote cloth

If I had to vote though red stitching

Definitely black with red stitching. I just ordered my 10A with black leather because the red was just too much! But red stitching would be unbelievably hot!

I'd lose the red accents altogether. Jeeps idea of a 10A Rubicon, and mine, are at opposite ends of the spectrum. My idea would be make it more functional, with a quality suspension lift and winch as standard equipment (not optional). Jeeps idea is, ... lets dress it up with red accents.

Although I mostly agree with what you're saying. I would have to say that the interior would be the one thing that most people won't change, so that makes the interior accents that much more appealing to me. I would be more likely to change / remove the bumpers, wheels, lift, etc than I would anything within the interior. So to me, having the interior that will differentiate the 10A from the other Rubicon's out there make sense.

That's just me though.

The altitude edition has red stitching on black seats, Jeep please add the red stitching on the 10A black seats!

Agreed. Seriously. But leather seats in general are literally hot. If you ever plan on taking top or doors off, it's something to consider.

Still considering the red seats, black may be too plain if they don't add the red stitching for some contrast

OMG it does, I didn't realize that. Wow, another poor move on the 10A. I was always going to get Red but I may be getting nothing if they keep screwing around with production date and production number.

Starting to look like a straight up "Money Grab" to me as opposed to a special tribute to 10 years of Rubicon!

Exactly. No matter what color the stitching, I'd be covering the leather with Trek Armor or any cover that would breathe. Those leather seats are going to be extremely uncomfortable after the sun has beat down on them even for a few minutes. Personally, I don't feel like having to lean forward or lift a butt cheek every few minutes to let the sweat evaporate.

With the denim/vinyl fabric on my old CJ, I had to use one of those ventilated mesh seat cushions with the springs inside during the summer. This seems to be the modern equivalent: Amazon.com: Amazing SummerSeat Self-Cooling Car Seat Cushion (Grey) (40"H x 18.5"W x 1.5"D): Patio, Lawn & Garden . The cloth on my TJ was wonderful...never uncomfortable.

One of my pet peeves with the JK in general is the black seats...cloth included. It's a stupid color choice for a jeep seat...or interior...unless you only jeep the lava fields of Hawaii. Mine aren't black anymore...thanks to Trek Armor. If I were to attempt to pressure Chrysler to do anything, it would be to give us a color choice for the cloth seats.

As polite as the responses have been from Chrysler regarding all the things the 10A gang has been trying to change after the fact, I'd bet a lot of the corporate folks are rolling their eyes and giggling all the way to the bank. I have to admit though that I briefly considered leather when I ordered my newest Jeep. My JK-owner girlfriend laughed at me. I came to my senses.

I would have prefered black seats with red stitching.

Black on black. If it has red stitching seats are getting yanked and replaced with TSC's as soon as I'm done painting the tow hooks.

Actually, I change my mind. If I were to attempt to pressure Chrysler to do anything, it would be to bring back the easily folding windshield. When they took that away from us, they lowered the fun factor of the Jeep by a HUGE amount.

Next year will be the 70th Anniversary of the CJ. Maybe they can put out a CJ-themed 70th Anniversary Jeep...complete with a windshield that folds down in less than an hour. Of course, I'd want black stitching on coyote tan seats.

Not for the first 7.3 minutes if its -10!!!

Though, how many jeeps have red leather? Unless I am wrong just the 10A. And if you actually go off road, the seats will be the color of your terrain in no time! Plus red is easier to keep clean.
Back to OP, like the altitude, black with red stitch.

Bravo. Thanks for the tip on the Trek Armor. Exactly what I was looking for to cover my new seats off road.
