I was looking at that kit and wondering if it would work. I read somewhere about an airbag sensor that doesn't allow for both ass and back heating on the passenger seat? Any idea if that is the case?
I put them in the my 2012 Sahara. I do not believe there would be any differences in the 2015. Heating pads went in both the horizontal and vertical seating surfaces. There is a weight sensor in the passenger side seat to turn the air bag on and off based on occupant's weight. I was careful not to mess with it and had no problem working around it. The picture you posted looks exactly like the kit I used.
I am looking into this too. The universal kits that don't take into account jeep specs will have four, but those that are made for jeep jk specifically come with three. This likely means there is something that precludes it, either a side airbag consideration or main airbag sensor.
An alternative I am looking at is seat covers (made for JK side impact bag seats) with universal seat heater between the seat and the cover and velcroed to cover.
I will be installing the Warm Seats waterproof ones underneath trek armor seat covers. Thanks to Paul F for confirming that I can use the adapter from Qaudratec.

From when I started research last winter the issue wasn't the capability of running 4 pads vs three but in one of the seats in the 2015 (jk sport is what I have) the air bag sensor / weight sensor is laid out where the butt pad would go on the passenger side. So putting a heating pad they would cause possible long / short term damage ultimately making in not function as it should which in turn would leave an airbag off or on depending how it broke.
I have considered the best approach would be seeing if a different model with heated seats is a direct plug and play (even if it was from an older model with 4 pads). That way you don't have a safety malfunction yet still get a toasty ride. More expensive however for me I hate electrical problems and would pay a premium for headache free plug and play.
Yeah. I have side impact included so I would need to find those, and there are definately recent model year changes. also mine are brand new 2017 and that would be a big waste of money, so swapping out entire seat is a no go.
I forwent the winter package because remote start which is normally included is deleted with no cost reduction from manual trans anyway, and I have no place to plug in block heater, and don't need it either
