Installed aev hood

I love it. I think it adds just enough character and attitude without having to do the lift and big tires. I'm not saying I'm not going to do the whole thing in time, but this awesome for now. (that is code for, my wife isn't letting me lift it and change out the wheels and tires)

Thanks to John Natoci and Duncan at AEV

Looks good!! Did they match the paint for you or did it come raw and you had it painted?

Love the hood. I'm saving up for mine!

What was the overall cost of the project?

Did you install it yourself?

Very nice ... I have mine in Commando Green. Has anyone found a place that makes a Black out Decal for the center Hump? I found with the sun just right it does reflect right in my eyes.

Now all you need is the AEV snorkel ... it took me about 30 min to install its a snap now that you have the hood.

They did it all. I live about 20 minutes from the AEV shop in Michigan. I dropped it off and picked it up when they were done.

When you buy them, do they come "pre-painted" to the factory colors?

Yeah...that looks great. That is on the list of things to do in the near future. Should go well with the AEV bumpers.

A pretty good guess would be $1608 installed. That's straight from AEV's website. Maybe if you walked in to their shop, they would cut you a better deal, but that's where they would start.

And OP, looks great!

Looks great in the picture, you should see it in person. AEV had one of these in their yard when I was walking around. Very Cool. It isn't going to be for everyone, but I really liked it.

Very rugged looking.

Absolutely!

I was checking out the pics in your garage. those are the wheels I was looking at going with from AEV.

They look great on your ride

How do you like the wheels with the 33s. No lift kit, right?
Has the ride changed a lot, gas milage ect....?

Love the 33s. No lift other than I put springs and shocks from a 10a Rubicon. I only had a few hundred miles on the stock wheels so I don't remember the ride being much different. Gas miles has not changed enough to notice.

I wonder how good the paint match/paint quality is if I bought a prepainted one from Quadratec. Maybe one of their reps cant talk about hows it's done. Im also surprised they do that, since most places don't want to ship painted items thanks to shipping damage.

Thanks pepatrick, that's what I wanted to hear. I think I will use these tires until it is time to replace them and then replace them with AEV wheels and 33s.

Where did you order it from? I was thinking about ordering from qtec color matched but wanted to make sure it was a quality paint job.

Make sure to shop around if you have a local AEV dealer. I got a good deal on my hood, and they had a shop that does the paint and installs. I ended up paying close to Quadratec price, but no shipping charges, and since their shop did the paint and install, it was a complete no touch operation. I just dropped the Jeep off on Monday and picked it up on Wednesday, and the match is perfect.
