Finally after having all of the components for my lift and tire/wheel install I got around to installing it with the help of a local Jeeper. Took us roughly 7 hours, with no real significant breaks or issues. I have a 2 door JK with 18/59 springs installed and went with the JKU Teraflex 2.5" kit which is supposed to have stiffer springs.
I'm coming up with only a lift of 1 1/4" in front and 3/4" in the rear over what I had. Something doesn't seem right, and I'm assuming it's my math. I measured before and after from floor to fender, which I don't think was the correct way, but it's all I have.
Before lift, front was 36", rear 36 1/4". After lift, front is 40", rear 39 3/4".
I measured the old tires vs. new, and the difference is 2 3/"4. So I subtracted that from the after lift totals and came up with the numbers listed.
Wow, just revisiting this thread because I've noticed a significant sag in the rear springs. Went and measured again and accounting for loss of tread, I've lost over an 1" of lift in less than 20,000 miles. Kinda dissapointing. Guess I'll be looking for
something else to replace the rears with at a minimum.
Thank you! So, after my math corrections it looks like I'm at 2 5/8's front and 2 1/8 in the rear. That's kinda disappointing considering I dont have my spare or my rear seat in. I figured going with the JKU lift I'd easily be clearing 2.5 all the way around.
It does ride decent, still have to adjust my 9000's to my comfort level. It pulls to the right slightly, so I'll get it in for an alignment and see what it looks like. I dont have any vibrations or anything at 60 mph, which is as fast as I got it yesterday.
I may have to do what Ken suggested in due tome and get a rear spacer. I took it over a couple obstacles to check clearance and I had zero rubbing anywhere with stock fenders.
