Installing a new 2.5/3" lift

So my buddie told me he would help one sat. install my lift kit. im really pushing a 3" i just got 33's (no lift) and im wanting a nice kit. i know after i will have to have the front end alligned, but i figure i could drive to the alignment place after the install and have that done later.

question, he has most of the tools, he even said he has a spring compressor. any other tools he would need, we are looking to do this on a sat. he likes this kind of stuff. so im getting off cheap, just buying him dinner.

anyone got a good link to lift kit installs i am also needing to do the stearing stablizer and im putting in a quick disconnect kit just for grins.

Install is pretty simple. Theres a few good writeups on how to do it, just remember to only do up the control arm and track bar bolts once its back on its wheels on the ground and make sure they are up to the correct torque.

Wheel alignment is not needed, its only the steering wheel off centre and it fixable very easy. http://www.jeepfan.com/tech/jeep-wrangler-jk-alignment/ Oh and maybe control arm adjustments for caster if you got adjustables.

Pretty straight forward install, Jack your JK as high as possible and set on Jackstands this way you can get away without using a spring compressor. Adjustable track bars are nice for centering your axles perfect. Like Seacomms stated torque up all your track bars, control arms to torque specs when the JK is on the ground not in the air. The only other thing is ensuring your steering wheel is centered or the ESP will be kicking in the entire time.

IMHO get an alignment especially if you have Adjustable control arms to get your caster set up for around +4.5 to 5.5 degrees (Stock is +4.2) to reduce that darting feeling at highway speeds. Cheap insurance to ensure your front end is close to stock specs after the lift and this way they can check everything else out to ensure less chance of uneven tire wear or poor handling.
