Those kits are technically illegal to install in non-HID headlight housings. They will scatter light everywhere and blind oncoming traffic if installed into the stock JK/U headlight housings.
Save up for a quality set of LED headlights instead.
That is the same type of setup that I have on my 15. It's plug and play-esk. Bulbs go into the light and then new wires are run to the bulbs, with controls for the lights run off of the OEM plug. I love my HIDs, personally I hate looking at led headlights more than hid headlights. HIDs are also brighter from what I've seen. There is so much hate on this forum for HIDs,don't let it discourage you.
Running them in the stock housings? That's not HID hate, that's a hate for something that's downright dangerous to everyone outside of your Jeep safe-space.
Retrofit, LED, or stay stock. Doing things half-assed is no way to operate.
I'm looking into doing a retrofit. I have done it before, but I wanted to know where people are getting their light housings. I want to take my time so I want a second set, do people sell their takeoff lights here much? Anyone know?
I'd be shocked if people asked more than $20 or $30 for a set of take offs.
