Insulated headliner for 2008 Unlimited X

Is anyone aware of a quality headliner made specifically for the Wrangler JK (4 door) hard top? I live in the Midwest where we get extreme cold in winter and extreme heat in the summer. I'd like to insulate a bit and also help reduce some of the interior echo. Any ideas out there?

I found a website for a company called Offroad Heros (yep - spelled with no 'e' in heroes). But they have no number to call and my attempts to find positive reviews of their product have come up empty.

I did see that someone posted a buyer beware about the company who markets the product and evidently they have some questionable business practices.

It's my first Jeep and I want to treat it right so no crappy products will touch this baby.

Would appreciate any guidance from the forum.

Thanks

In the same boat. I found Hothead Liners on the web but they are damn expensive. I'm thinking about trying to make one myself...

I have the ORH JK kit on my JK and It's gone thru 113 deg heat and -7 deg cold in the Nv desert environment

I've had it for a year and I've added Some thermal-acustic insulation between the Kit and hardtop and it's been a total success-quiet/cool/silence is golden, cell phone use on the freeway-is SUPREME !!

Insulated Head Liner

How much is the head liner and how necessary is it? Do the stock hard tops really need this addition?

Simple answer is no, it's a jeep. However, the JK's have definate improved creature comforts and this is a fairly simple mod that (from the reviews) yields some good results with heat and sound dampening.

I have noticed the roof inside is too hot to put my hand on in summer so I am very interested in doing something. I had thought of putting carpet up there, just never did. May check out the liner like yours JIMBOX

My Offroadheros kit was a couple hundred, about a year ago

Thats more than most want to spend on insulation and there are a bunch of right-ups on using different methods

Do it to please YOU

Mine is a pleasure to drive out in the Nevada desert, in 113 deg heat or -7 degree temps, I only use those numbers cause thats the TWO extreme temps I've had my JK in

FWIW, Im in So Cal so it get down right HOT in the Summer.
I went a in expensive way with the top.
I got 4 Jumbo windshield deflectors and industrial velcro.
I cut the shields to fit in the top and fastened them with the velcro.
It may not be the best in the world but it works for me.
