Insurance and the Modded Jeep Questions??

I got to thinking that I bought and insured a stock 2013 Jeep J/K. I have not read my policy yet which I know is bad on me but I added about 5K in mods over the last year and wonder about the technicalities of this. I dont want to call my agent yet and wonder if anyone here is an insurance whiz.
A few questions, are my mods covered? Say the Jeep was totaled in a crash or God forbid it burnt up, would I be covered? To what point? I have full coverage on it with a deductable. I have all reciepts of mods and pictures but does modding change your coverage?
Do insurance companies charge you more for modding?
If I had an at fault accident would the mods figure in to denying coverage? I.E. I have a steel front bumper that would do much more damage than the powder puff plastic one if I hit something?
I have other questions but I figured I would put this out there for guys and girls that may know the answers without me getting my reading glasses out and trying to stay awake reading.

Insurance companies have certain policy limits they will cover on each part of your vehicle. Unless you purchase a rider policy which will cover the added mods on your jeep, most insurance companies will only cover what the factory part would cost to replace. I had this issue last year with my jeep and being involved in a crash. If you want all of your mods covered, get with your insurance agent and get that rider policy purchased in the event something should happen. It's worth the piece of mind.

Several years ago my ins. Company used to cover mods without documenting them, or additional cost. Two years ago this changed, I just went over this two weeks ago with my ins. Agent to make sure everything was up to date. $18,650 in covered mods.

Asking on the forum is worthless, call your agent. Mine said all mods within reason were covered, just take lots of pics.

I agree, call your agent, I'm betting it's both state and company specific. I added all my mods to my policy & it's like $70 a year. My old ins co wanted all the receipts, my current co just added them no questions asked. I also got in writing that should I roll it over off road or something it's covered. They said you may have to drag it to within 20 feet of a road for a tow, but it's covered.
