intake garbage?

Want to get intake more for a little sound...I know the power increase is small if any. So with that said, what do we think about this

You will get a bit of sound but no power. All you really get is 202 out of a JK. If you want to maximize not getting water in the intake without upgrading to a snorkel stay with the stock box and a good paper filter. We all know that if you want performance you need a major engine upgrade (hemi) or another vehicle. I won't sacrifice sound for water at this point.

my concern is that is cheaply priced...i know most of the time you're paying fo name brand so for $70 or so, want to know if it might cause O2 censor to go off or is waist of money...what im trying to say is, should i just get a K&N or Airaid or AFE intake...the seller has sold 5,000+ with 99% feedback

Go with the AiRaid...I put one on my rubicon couple of years ago, clean it once a year and it's never been more than half dirty...and never had water come through it and I've been in deep stuff and splashing mud all around...extra sound is nice, little more power on uphill climbs, whatever gas mileage increase there is is hard to track...but it works and I'm happy with it!

I guess it really doesn't matter what you buy as long as it has a no oil synthetic media filter. I personally went with a volant and couldn't be happier.

About codes/o2 sensor-I have an AEM on my 04. While it makes me happy, the sound and power gas mileage gains are hard to prove - or be sure of even yourself. I can get as poor as 14-15mpg and as good as 22mpg on the right highway. Now to the codes.....

Shortly after installing my Aem (within a few months) the Jeep started throwing codes for a "bad cat/o2 sensor", had it reset multiple times-and performance gas/mileage was fairly consistent for the type of driving I was doing. About 18 months after the install/throwing codes, had to replace the factory cat-it was plugged-no power. Also replaced the muffler at same time. After about 6-8 months that cat plugged up as well. The shop called it defective installed another one for free. With in 4 months that one plugged up and the shop replaced it with a "high flow" cat. It has been on there for over a year. During all this time the jeep would sometimes throw codes for bad cat-even after the last cat was installed. I drive about 15k-20k miles per year.

I switched to a full synthetic oil and a "better oil filter" to aid in the chance of better lubrication and to get rid of valve noise it has worked. A possible side benefit?

It has stopped throwing codes.

Sorry for the long post-bottom line is I think I may have created a few problems by adding the AEM-but after a few years and some part and practices changes-THINK everything is back to normal.
