Does anyone have the light part numbers I need for a 2015 JKU. I am looking for the dome on the speaker bar, rear dome in trunk and license plate light. I am confused with the CANBUS ect. Prefer to order from superbrightleds
Yes, it is only the rear that requires the CANBUS bulbs.
These LEDs will put out more light than the stock, but if you are a bit more ambitious and want to really improve the amount of light in the front, you might consider the mod in the following link, which also uses bulbs from Superbright:
I'm considering flush mount in the stock bumper or the Rigid Industries mounts on top of the stock housing and wiring them to a switch for when I need them. Poribably would be a little easier to do but a little more money as well.
Footwell lights, like the map lights on the rearview mirror, are not "plug & play" and require some soldering skills. Might want to check this out. I'm going to pull mine out tomorrow (including map light board) and have Mike do them.
I installed the CANBUS light in the rear and unless I got a defective one, I'm far from impressed. The 2 in front are brighter and crisper but the rear dome light sucks now! Anyone else have this issue?
Huh, I just did mine the other day and think they are pretty close in output. I will say though that from the front seat the rear doesn't seem as bright, but that is probably because there are 2 LED's right behind my head. From sitting in the back it looks just as bright as the fronts.
Mine looks very dull. I'll mess around with it later tonight or this weekend when I am actually awake when it's dark and see what's up. Hoping I didn't get a defective LED.
I did notice with mine though that I had to squeeze the metal tabs that hold the bulb as the diameter of the canbus LED bulb was a little smaller than the factory one. But if yours is illuminating but not bright that's probably not the issue. Just for the hell of it, try spinning it around 180 degrees and see if that makes a difference. Guess it can't hurt. Good luck.
With the key in and accessory or run, it works fine.
Turned on by the button on the sound bar without the key, it flashes. Open door works fine with or without the key, as does turning the lights on with the turn signal switch.
I'm thinking this is a feature to prevent my son from leaving the lights on all the time LOL
After doing some reading, I'm wondering if the flashing that I see when pressing the fixture buttons with the engine off is related to a pulse-mode that is used on incandescent lights in automobiles to lower the current draw? It seems plausible that the design would put the lamps in such a mode to conserve power when the engine isn't running.
Other than that oddity, the LEDs work perfectly, and are a tremendous improvement.
I'm digging up this thread because it is the most recent relevant thread in search. Does anyone know the difference between the LAN and CAR on the WLED-xHP5 and WLED-WHP6 bulbs on superbright??
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
