Invoice Price? 2012 Jeep Rubicon

HELP! I'm trying to figure out what the Invoice Price is afor a 2012 Jeep Rubicon (2-Door, Bright Silver Metallic Clear Coat Exterior Paint, Black Interior) with the following options:
  • 2012 Jeep Rubicon
  • 5-Speed Automatic W5A580 Transmission
  • 4.10 Rear Axle Ratio
  • Air Conditioning with Automatic Temperature Control
  • Power Convenience Group
  • Heated Front Seats
  • Supplemental Front Seat-Mounted Side Airbags
  • Deep Tint Sunscreen Windows
  • Dual Top Group
  • Trailer Tow Group
  • Connectivity Group
I just received my Control # through Tread Lightly membership, but see that it expires at the end of the month (unless they extend it). I've looked at a few websites and they all have a different invoice price with identical options selected (go figure). I'm curious about the invoice price as I have 4 quotes that are all over the place. This will be my first Jeep.

Thanks for the help!

Wow, basecamper, that's great information. We just ordered a new Crush JK Sahara Unlimited after shopping several local dealers around Charlotte.

Kerryva, you probably know this, but "invoice" pricing, is a very fluid number and generally, uh, let's say - unreliable - when it comes to car salesmen. Never believe the number that a salesman calls "invoice". All that matters is the out-the-door price, and that's how you have to pin them down for the sake of comparison.

Based on our 2012 Unlimited specs, apples-to-apples, the 4 dealers closest to us priced the car, out-the-door, at $901, $1,340 and $1,740 higher than the dealer we ordered it from. And they all gave us different "invoice" figures.

And based on basecamper's numbers, it looks like the lowest-bidding dealer also made a few bucks, which is cool because they have to stay in business too, and we got the best deal possible in our area.

BTW, the winning dealer was an informal, no-bull, nice-to-meet-you-here's-our-best-price-in-writing kind of place. If anybody would like to drive to Charlotte to get a good deal on a Jeep, let me know and I'll hook you up.

Just a clarification these are not numbers that I put together but that the thread originator Milous put together. Having said that I am not sure what his affiliation if any with Jeep is but I can tell you several people in the know have confirmed these and they matched exactly what was on my doc's from my dealer order FWIW

Make sure to read the thread all the way. There's information there that you may not be seeing.

"Dealer invoice" (which is not what the dealer actually pays Chrysler) is not a number that a salesman should be able to play with. When using the "Chrysler Affiliate Rewards Program" (use those words, not "Tread Lightly" discount as not all dealers know what that means), your salesperson should provide you a pricing sheet that clearly lists out the "dealer invoice", Employee Price, and your price under TL (standard is 1% below "dealer invoice", though some may offer more). It may read as "FFP" which is "Friends and Family Pricing".

Negotiating should be very simple. 1. Do you participate in the Chrysler Affiliate Rewards Program? 2. Great, here's what I am looking for. 3. Dealer responds with your pricing under TL.

Again, be sure to read the thread fully. You'll also find TONS of information about this around the forum.

Good luck!

I wanted to thank everyone for the advice and information. I'm putting $500 down tomorrow to order a 2012 Rubicon. Can't wait and hope that everything works out on the OTD price we agreed on (I've got it in 3 separate emails and will get it in a signed fax before I sign and fax back with my $500 deposit).

I know car salesman (in my case saleswoman) need to make a living, but I'm actually excited to talk with a lawyer

Can't wait to actually get it, this will be my first Jeep ever...

Wish me luck!
