Is it plugged into the USB port? Try wiggling the plug connections, see if that does anything...

Happens to me all the time. Sometimes it corrects itself on the next track, sometimes turning the "radio" off and back on cures it, sometimes I have to disconnect and reconnect the IPod. Been happening since day one (6 months)

Edit: I use the UConnect USB port in the center console.

Tried all that, song seems to be playing but no sound, also, The track button on the steering wheel doesn't work, guess I'm dealer bound.

That's exactly what I get. elapsed time clock keeps going like song is playing. When it gets to the end of one track, if goes to the next, but no sound. So far, I have always been able to find a "fiddle fix."

Please let us know if your dealer finds a real cure.

Mine has done that on occasion, I just reset the ipod. Like powering it off so it has to boot back up. Sorry can't remember the button sequence, but this may help. How to reset iPod
I use a USB cable with mine. Once it is reset I plug it back into the jeep and I am good for another few months.

Can you tell me which iPod models and SW version that you have that are experiencing this issue and which radio? Are these vehicles mentioned here all 2012's?
Is this happening in streaming or cable mode?
As mentioned by tiger3, I have seen the reset fix several different issues.

Thanks,
You've tried a couple different iPods. What type (models were they? Did they all do the same thing?
Can you tell me the build date of the vehicle? Should be a tag on the drivers door. Look for code "MDH".
Thanks.

let's leave it here, mostly because it seems that others are have the same issue and I would like to help them also.
Can you try something for me? Can you play music using from a thumb drive? (I apologize ahead for asking questions, I have been criticized for it in the past, but I'm not at the vehicle and I'm trying to duplicate it.)
Does the USB connector still light up?
Would you mind trying to reset the Uconnect module by removing the M10 fuse (I believe that's the number, it'll be a double gang fuse in a white housing) or disconnecting the battery for about 5 - 10 minutes, then reconnect it.
Thanks for your help Four Flusher.

I don't have a thumb drive, but I'll discount the battery tomorrow, If that doesn't work, I'll work on the drive
thanks

YAY. Glad it worked out. It's similar to when our computers or wireless gets screwy. They just need a reboot and we had to figure out which item needed it.

Mine does this too. If I leave it plugged into the armrest without playing it for a while it pauses on the last track.

Coincidentally, mine did it tonight and I just did the reset procudure. "Fixed"

Yep, the iPod goes into a "I don't know" state and usually the reset of the iPod works great and other times it causes the Uconnect to spazz out and it needs to be reset.

I still have ghosts. Before my IPOD stopped working it had a problem with starting then stopping a tune then restarting it.

also, It take about 30 sec to initialize. Is that normal?

May have to make a trip to the dealer

There is a flash for this. Mine was doing the same thing. I also had some leaks, so I phoned the dealer for an appointment for the leak TSb and they also said there was a flash update for the steering controls and Uconnect they would perform. Mine is a 2011 so this may not be the fix for a 2012 but it never hurts to try.

Mine now works flawlessly ever since the update.

Cheers

you mentioned before it stopped working you had this issue with stopping a song and restarting it. was this like a stutter or did it completely stop the song and restart it at the beginning?
On the initializing, this is normal and on some players it may take longer depending on the amount of media that you have. Uconnect rereads the iPod with each key cycle because it doesn't know if you have taken it out of the vehicle and added or deleted material so it needs to read and compare. The comparing goes on inn the background after it has been read.
Hope this helps

More like a stutter. Funny it had stopped after I swapped IPODs, then it was playing without sound, discounted the battery, IPOD works but the stutters back.

This "stutter", it can be at anytime, correct. It also happens on any song that it wants to, is this also correct?

Oh, ok. I know that one.
In the past Apple used to buffer the beginning of the song while comparing the data for it to make sure that the next song to be played matches the meta data that will be displayed. So Uconnect had to have a short buffer time also, with the Apple updates, they have changed this buffer time without saying anything about it. So now there is a little tug of war in the beginning of the song. Uconnect has the same buffer time they have been using and Apple has a shorter time, Apple keeps trying to force play and Uconnect is not ready yet. This has been taken care of by the suppliers and will be applied with the SW update that Chrysler will be sending to the service departments. I don't know the time frame of when that will be yet.
