Is it true in order to do a suspenion lift more than 4" you have to do something to modify your frame? Some one told me that and i havent seen anyone with over a 4" suspenion lift on here. So is that true or were they just
Thanks
I was told on the jks 4 doors. I see you have a 5.5 on the 06. How are you running 37s on a 4' lift? does it still have some power my 35s make the the jeep seem like i have a 4 cylinder lol
I regeared the JK to 5.13 and i got the Flashpaq tuner, with the 4" lift, additional bumpstop at the front and rear plus the flat fenders i got room for 40s but im not gonna go that route...37s is as high i want to go with it.
The TJ got 5.5 plus 1" body to make room for 37s...im not done with it yet still a work in progress.
JKs dont need as much lift as TJs to stuff 37s on them.
Noting to frame is required, but at over 4in you will definately be wanting new drive shafts either now or very soon, will need adjustable control arms, adjustable trackbars, high steer kit and front and rear track bar brackets, may need to either fit spring perch wedges or cut and reweld the rear spring perches due to the new angle the diff sits on, will need longer brake lines and bump stops, the list goes on! (though thats pretty much it from memory)
Some of the stuff you mentioned are only needed if you get a long arm.You really dont need a LA on JKs,the OEM control arms are good enough for a 4" lift.I have LA on my TJ and i really beleive they are over rated.
There is a thread somewhere that states that mostly 2 doors have problems with the DS but the 4 doors are ok.I have stated before that i have my lift for 2 years now and my DS is still going strong.I did buy a Tom Woods DS just in case when i got the lift and currently still in the box in my garage just waiting for its turn LOL
