Is this 2008 Unlimited Sahara a good deal?

I know, I know...another one of these posts...I'm sorry in advance. I'm a long time lurker and searcher for a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. I think this may be the one.

For $24,500 (and that's before negotiating), does this seem like a good deal?

She's got 41,100 miles on her. Automatic Transmission. Along with everything you see in the picture. Any advice or questions I should ask?!

The first owner had the vehicle for 4 years (up to 2012) putting roughly 32,000 miles on it and the second owner had it for 5 months putting an extra 10,000 miles on it. No accidents or anything according to CarFax. And I will be getting the vehicle checked out thoroughly before I decide to buy.

I'd say its not worth it. It has super heavy Nitto tires on a stock drive train, maybe $1000 in winch and bumper. You could honestly get a 2012 or 2013 sport for pretty close to that price with a warranty. I love my 08 but if you can get a newer sport with the 3.6 and the 5 speed auto for close to the same price, it may be an idea to look into it

If you are set on that jeep id offer 20k

I spent 6 months looking at used Jeeps and I finally decided for a little more $ it's better to buy new. I got a 2013, the 3.6 engine is better than the 3.8 IMO.

That does seem to be the concensus on the 3.6 vs. the 3.8. Thanks guys

I like how the spare is still a factory street tire. $24,500 is too high. I wouldn't pay more than about $20k.

you should look for a new or slightly used 12 or 13. if you dont really need the fancy stuff go with a sport and you wont be paying much more.

The nittos are the same size as stock, no point in changing the spare other than to match

Used jeeps just don't make as much sense to buy. I bought mine used but I got a crazy deal. Whenever I see used ones for sale they are priced very closely to new ones because of the good resale value. If you get a killer deal on a used jeep I'd do it, unfortunately, this isn't a killer deal

Well I paid 21k for my 08 unlimited sahara 57k miles. I think this one is priced at where the market is. Prob can knock a few dollars off that price but I doubt dealer will take off much. My dealers in my area can't keep used jeeps on the lot so they not reducing that much. That one is a good looking jeep. High resale value on these things are like gift and a curse. Just be fair when looking and comparing to new meaning compare at your dealers what a new Sahara unlimited would run you. 24k in my area new would just get you a really base 2door sport.

I paid $21k for my 2007 Sahara with 62k miles. Loaded except Nav. and a soft top. Cheapest I seen within 300 miles of where I live (near ocala,fl). Jumped on it.

I seen a 2007 Sport with 154k miles SELL for $15k here. Stock!

Been researching Jeeps for 4 years and they just don't depreciate.

My 08JK like-show-room-new Sahara JK (with 15000 miles) 30 months ago cost me $21K from a private party.

I think there's a better deal out there for you.

It depends on being an automatic and if it's a private seller.

I'm out on the hunt now. So far I got $27915 plus TTL for a 2013 jku sport with 3.21 and very basic interior. Then I got a 2013 jku sport with the 3.73 and all else that the 24S comes with for $30987 plus TTL. Any of these sound like good deals? I'm going to check out another jku 2013 sport with the 3.73...but this one is dune, which is what I've been searching for

Use a good pricing reference like truecar (New 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Price Quote w/ MSRP and Invoice), or edmunds or kbb or the 2013 or 2014 information thread on WF, so you are not just making wild guesses at what is a good price. Do your homework! Otherwise, you're going to get taken to the cleaners...

I did end up finding a 2013 JKU Sport with the 24S package and 3.73 rear axle ratio, anti-spin diff., and 3 piece top along with the connectivity stuff for $33,400 out the door. ($31,380 + TTL).

I pussed out and am gonna wait til I save up some more cash...and continue doing my homework.

Congratulations on the good judgement!

The only thing sweeter than getting a Jeep is knowing that you got just what you wanted..... and at a fair price!
