I have 35" Mud Claws that won't fit my stock carrier, just making sure this is everything. Appears to be the same, but a lot more money, what am I missing here? What do I need, is there a cheaper option other than Teraflex?

Thanks all

I got just the Hinged Carrier for $400, added a used wheel spacer for clearance and voila.

Have been carrying 100 lb 35" tire +wheel like that for years without incidence.

^^^This is mine. Teraflex HD hinge with adjustable carrier.
Part # 4838150

There is always cheaper. But if you can afford it, do it right the first time, because this one is of high quality..IMO

^^^THIS^^^ I know folks will run about with a big tire on the stock carrier and hinges but just don't. For your own piece of mind and the life of your tailgate get a good carrier. The Terraflex isn't good, it's freaking great and the original. I ran no spare till I could break down and buy the Teraflex that's how much confidence I have in the stock carrier.

I have a quick question. I found out why my tire was not fitting well with the adjustable tire carrier. I have a stock Willy's wheel which has too much backspace. TF is sending me a spacer which should solve the problem. I'm wondering if I could just run the stock carrier with no spacer and my stock wheel while I'm waiting for the spacer? I have 315 KO2's.

This is the exact tire I have, 315/70 17 KO2. The shop didn't mount my spare because they didn't think it would fit. Well they didn't try.. I have the Teraflex HD Hinge w/OEM carrier. I have pins and rods in my back so I was bored, skeptical, and waiting on a spacer. It fits perfect. Doesn't hit the bumper, just right. It's been a month and still no call for a spacer.. maybe they forgot.

Here is my stock carrier with stock Willy's wheel. It touches the hinge carrier, but not as much as it would with the TF adjustable. What I like about it is there are way less bolts needed since I would be running a spacer. I also like that it sits about 2" lower so I have more visibility which is welcomed. Another thing that should help is it sits tight under the third brake light and snugly in the curvature of the brake light mount and thats another point of contact. I couldn't run a 37" tire with the stock carrier. I'm going to run this until spacer gets here and see if I like it. If it works fine then I may sell my adjustable since 37's are not in near future. So I will not have the 3 bolts for the spacer and 2 pinch bolts for the adjustable part of the sleeve.

So just to double-check: that's the stock carrier and no spacer? I'm asking because I'm going to be putting a 35 on my stock Willy's wheel as well but was thinking I would need a spacer/relocation bracket.

And when you say "sits 2 inches lower" do you mean 2 inches lower than it would with the teraflex carrier?

Looks great by the way. I love that rear bumper. I'm wondering how it will fit with the stock bumper...

I don't have the rubber isolators. I'm actually going to try to score one and probably have to cut it down a little. Then I would know it has 3 points of contact. It touches the hinges barely, but it sits perfectly in the curve of the brake light. I'm thinking of selling the adjustable since this will work for me for awhile I think.
