Yep, only 8 miles each way mostly freeway though. We don't have much bad traffic here so the stick is no issue. It could be far far worse. I used to live in the Seattle area and had sticks up there as well. 30 miles each way all freeway on average for most of the jobs I had and that would take 60 minutes on average in the morning and 1 1/2 to 2 hours on average in the evening. I still would have done it in a Jeep if I'd owned one then.

I figured it out the other day and to buy a second car to get 30+ mpg to use for commuting I'd have to be putting on a LOT of miles to make it pay off anytime soon. My current commute would take years to do that, the Seattle one it might have been more worth it.

40 miles round trip. I wouldn't want to drive any other vehicle. My '13 JKU is so much more comfortable than my 02 Liberty was. Love it.

2012 JK 2dr daily driver for a 20+ mile trek (40+ total). Takes 20 min to 30 based on traffic. I get about 16-17 MPG. I wanted 19-20 MPG... But I do have a hard top and extra gear.

My other ride, a 2004 Mercury Marauder with some mods uses 93 Octain and it costs about the same as Jeep. Wet roads suck for traction off the line and you cant jump from the highway to an access road that easy. My 2007 Harley Davidson Night Train cant carry much or be driven in bad weather.

Daily Driver, and only family vehicle at that. I have about a 9 mile commute each way, and it can take 15-45 min depending. No vehicle has made me as happy while on the road. Long drive, short drive, tops on, tops off, windows up or down, if it isn't bumper to bumper, it's fun in a JK.

No vehicle prior has made me even remotely as happy offroad, including my 83' Chevy 1500 which I beat the hell out of on some really nasty logging roads. It was a "beater", and could be driven offroad as such. The JK is the most fun yet!

Yes because the JK gets better mileage. I used to drive the YJ every day but I'm trying to save for a new toy and with the YJ getting 9 mpg the JK is the cheaper to drive.

I do 60 miles per day round trip for the commute, all backroads, but then I also drive it during my workday for meetings and such. I get between 21-22 mpg out of every tank and find it to be a very comfortable ride. And I had a BMW 745Li before my Jeep.

bought mine on Aug.1st and already have 5k miles and that is even leaving it home once or twice a week and using the Wife's Avalanche to drive the 104 miles round trip to work. Luckily tho I only have to work 4 days a week and by next Feb.1st my company is moving and the trip will be down to 65 miles round trip. Crappy part of that is I will have to park at a trolley car terminal and take the trolly into downtown Boston,MA. Admitedly it will be a nice view of the Boston harbor and Logan Airport but having to put up with the very strange people that ride the "T" (as they call it) for a half hour each way will be interesting.
