issues installing smittybilt front bumper?

Wondering if anyone has had issues installing smittybilt front bumpers. I had gotten a Classic Front w/ winch mount. For whatever reason it was only listed for 200 on quads website instead of the 400 I had seen elsewhere.
This issue I ran into was the cross member support on the left and right side ran about an inch lower than the cross member. Fixed it by cutting out the area on the bumper, just took a little while to grind everything straight and smooth. Looks clean and cant really tell that it didn't come like that.
But what i'm wondering is was it smittybilt or jeep that was off. It seems like the supports shouldn't have been lower than the crossbeam. Or do all jeeps come like that and the bumper was just incorrect?

I like the way everything came out and looks great. Even better only spent 200$ for it w/winch mount, when it would have cost about that much for a winch mount plate to add to the stock bumper.
Just slightly irritated that I had to cut and grind for a while to get it to fit right.
