It beeps at me for everything

Ones any one know if I can stop the keys in the ignition door open alarm buzzing. I don't mind it beeping for lights left on and hand brake on. When I'm camping or working on my car I like to have music on without it beeping at me every time I open the door it's getting annoying. If I have to resort to cutting wires to alarm where exactly is the buzzer located. Behind steering column? 07 jk rubicon 2 door

Unplug the wiring connectors via the plug near the bottom of your door to the connection under your dash. It's the same one you would do this with when taking off the doors.

I'd like to do this too. Is it easy to do this without, say, disabling your door locks or power windows?

If you un-hook the connection then you will have no power anything to your door. It is very easy to do. Open the door and look down at the strap holding the door to your jeep. The electric plug "wire/s" are just behind it attached to the under side of the dash on each side. Simply move the red clip "latch" over a little and the plug comes right out kinda like pushing the button on a seatbelt and then un hooking it. Very simple.

Thanks for the info ESP. So then rehooking it up is easy after you want to shut down the music or ESPN or whatever and close the doors?

I think I understand what your asking, the music timer is based on 30 seconds by default after the ignition is turned off. The door sensor flips it off if the door is opened prior to the timer finishing. If your doors are off and you want to listen to music then it will function the same regardless. Without the key in or turned and the ignition is off, you've got 30 seconds. If you want it to stay on with or without the doors on after the ignition is off, turn the key to battery operation and rock out.

Did that answer your question?

Ok the dimmer switch worked when I tested it now I put the door trim back on its beeping again. Had the door trim off trying to find the wires going to lock to bridge them out to stop beeping

Just pull out fuse # 4 from your fuse box. the chiming goes away, The owners manual tells you to pull this fuse when you choose to take the doors off (works the same as if the door is open)

Hope this helps!

** the fuse box is found directly behind your glove box. it should be the bottom right fuse. just pull it out with a pair of needle nosed pliers.

If you think the JK beeps a lot, wait until you live with an FJ for a week. Yikes!

Or a Ford.

I have a Ford RV that chimes WHENEVER the driver's door is opened with the key in the ignition. No exceptions.

I think the JK has a good balance of chime warning. Forget your keys? Chime. Left headlights on? Chime. That's about it.

Yeah, I review vehicles for a living, the JK is nothing compared to others I've tested.
