Ok so this is post is pointless and only serves to curb my OCD. Why would Jeep make a manual that won't fit flat in the glovebox...really Jeep really.

Ok I'm done.

LMAO I noticed this when I was test driving JKUs last week. It is a fairly large, cumbersome manual.

Jeep puts it in the glove box for shipping purposes only. You're supposed to move it to the center console after you take delivery. Leaving it in the glove box will cause permanent damage to the manual and/or glove box that will not be covered under your warranty.

I'm assuming you guys are talking about 10 and later models that have a user's guide and a CD manual as opposed to 09 amd older with the printed manaul. Mine fits fine in the glovebox inside it's green demin case.

I have a 2012 and the canvas case alone barely fits. Forget about actually placing anything inside of it.

What's the manual for anyway?? After reading tons of posts on here it's obvious that lots of folks have never opened one before much less read it...

2010 here and my green canvas pouch doesn't even fit in the glove box flat. I was blown away too... BTW, does everyone's green pouch have velcro (loop side I think) on it but not the other (hook) side? What the heck is that all about? Looks like it should velcro shut, but it only has the one side... or am I missing something? (literally or mentally) haha

Over the last number of years the Printed Manuals of most cars and Jeeps have gotten larger and the "Glove Box" smaller. I think they are trying to convince us we just need the DVD. With all the Disclaimers and pages upon pages of descriptions of the operations of options that are not on your particular model. I think the space has also been taken up by the Air Bags.
Perhaps the addition of a loaded Ipad or small computer already installed with voice recognition will be on the future option list. Sure would make the understanding a lot easier.

It's produced in that inconvenient size, so you'll keep it home in the safe, so-

Toyota owners can't get hold ofit-

I love my Jeep, but I was thinking the same thing!

Mine came with the User Guide, warrantee, California emissions (?) DVD, etc in the green denim cover (with velcro). It does not fit in the glove box, so went into the center console.
Did anyone else notice that the DVD is severely lacking in material? It is really just an extension of the user guide with none of the detail you expect in a user's manual.

I am a manual reader (yes there are some of us!) so I called in and got the user’s manual mailed to me. It’s a big honker - but it does fit in the glove box.

WHAT? You pulling a Macgyver!

I had them send me the manual as well. Read the whole thing (except all the sheit I already knew) & place it in the green pouch in the glovebox where it doesn't fit Been meaning to take it out & store it somewhere else. But, I keep forgetting

Sucks that the glove box is small. Miss that part of mi mazda. But I still have a big 'ol grin on mi face when I see mi jeep. And I still haven't come up with a name for her

The engineers made that way so next year when they make a smaller manual they can say they did some improvements.

It fits perfectly in that little forward slot at the bottom of the drivers door-

Nothing else will fit--pistol/bottle/fire ex./recovery strap/spare winch !

I read manuals/instructions for everything!!!

I'm just like that. You never know what you might miss. Sure, you have vehicles for so long & so many. That doesn't mean you know your vehicle. It'll have something you didn't know or know how to operate.

I always wanted to smack a person that brought their vehicle in for something they thought was broken, because they didn't know how to operate it. So, instead of reading the manual about it. They just bring it in & say it's broken. READ THE BLOODY BOOK!!!
