I know rock slider questions have been beat to death! But they are the next thing on my build list and because of me being a poor College kid but loving to wheel and at the same time I don't want to cause any major damage to my JKUR! I have narrowed down my choices too, ACE Rock sliders and both Rock Sliders from JCR! I know the incredible ratings and backing ACE has but in the future i want to add the armor cladding like the JCR crusader has, probably be P.S. though! So is the crusader worth the extra money vs the JCR classic rock sliders? and for whichever is better, how does it compare to ACE rock sliders! If i am missing any in this same price range that is comparable please tell me! But through thorough research those are the only ones i have found!
I have the JCR Stage 2 sliders and love them. My husband has the Ace with Rubicon rock rails, he likes his better. The JCR fit higher and tighter on the jeep which gives you a smaller area to step on to get into the jeep. I am short and have small feet so it is not a problem to me. Plus you get use to the way things are on your jeep. Here is a couple of pics of mine. I also have JCR bumpers front and rear, they are really nice people to deal with.
you wouldn't happen to have a comparison picture of yours and your husbands jeep?
By the way does your husband use your jeep against you, when buying new mods saying his has to be bigger and look better
Do you know which hold up better or protect better against rocks? such as how well the JCR like the ones you have protect the pinch seem?
LOL!! I don't have a pic of his rails up close. He does have the rock rails bolted on along with the Ace. The JCR wrap around the bottom of the pinch seam. We take both jeeps out riding, here in Georgia we have rocks and mud. Yes, we do have a little building competition going on. I actually bought mine first and 3 months later he couldn't take it so, he bought one.
I have ACE sliders but would have no issue using JCR sliders. I like both of them equally as far as function and looks. I don't know how the JCR sliders bolt on or if you have to weld them on. The Ace sliders were easy to install and are extremely sturdy. Being short like I am - it was imperative that I put sliders on my jeep and they also offer so much protection.
I have the Ace sliders under my Rubicon rails. I am thinking of getting something where I remove the Rubicon rails and it fits tight and close in like the Poison Spyder Rocker Knockers for example.
The Ace rails are great but I want to get rid of the double rails. Just a personal choice. They are a good value and will service you well.
well i have the step rails, and last outing i went on i banged one pretty bad and it made me realize the i probably should armor up! SO i bought rock hard skids, and next on my list is rock rails! I would like for them to be bolt on and be used as a step, cause i myself am not short, BUT ABSOLUTELY love short "fun sized" girls Its like my kryptonite 0.0
-_-
Don't talk to me about that guy. I was first to respond and was quick about responding asked for more pictures, he sent them then i asked a few questions and confirmed price. DIdnt hear from him for 2 1/2 days got an email saying he sold them......
well.... to add to your tally! I love yours! But I'm partial to white thats exactly what i wanted :/! Although if my silver is clean enough it looks white And yea I'm up here in KY and TN so i have basically the same terrain! Is JCR bolt on and how hard is the install?
I believe JCR has 2 styles, 1 bolts on and the ones I have are actually attached to the body of the jeep. That first hole you drill into the body is the most painful!! It took us about 4 - 5 hours to install them. Of course I read the instructions about dozen times before we started and test fit them before starting. I'm sure you would be happy with either.
Just installed smittybilt SRC rails on my 4 door and love them. The tight was very fit and if helped having two people to install them, but dang those things are solid and look killer with the dune color!!
You get the same clearance with both, but my SRC sliders stick out enough that if a car hit me from the side I doubt it'd make it to my doors. I also like the triangle design because it adds structural integrity. Only downside was they were difficult to install, but a jack and a couple guys from a rubber mallet wedged it into place. Drivers side fit like a glove though!
Ah yeah sorry, I meant those rails are just barely taller than my rear differential
