JCR Stubby with tall stinger Installed

It took longer than expected, but it's on. Finally...

My first JCR bumper arrived with a nice ding in it courtesy of UPS. JCR replaced it for me in a matter of days - impressive considering they had to re-build one for me.

I ran into problems with a local powdercoating company...the first time, it came out with green sparkles in the clear coat thanks to a gun they hadn't cleaned properly. Second time around, they didn't remove the hardware; powdercoated right over it leavinf bare steel beneathe the washers...long story short, got all my money back and on the third try, it appears they got it right.

I went with a dark grey (Anthracite, officially) instead of the standard black that everyone else does . I love the way it coordinates with the Winter Chill color and the Arctic theme of my Jeep.

Install was mostly painless especially given my limited experience with this stuff. The removal of the stock bumper was annoying thanks to all the plastic hardware that stripped in half a second. As far as the JCR, I just needed to enlarge the holes for the fog light bolts and tweak a hole on the frame cuz one of the bolts on the bumper just wasn't lining up. Dremel took care of it.

Love the way it looks! Love the color. And even though this entire process was frustrating for me, now that it's on and I see how badass it looks, I'm lovin' it all and looking forward to my next project.

And, btw, thank you for those of you following along with this saga in the "What Did You Do to Your JK" thread...you kept me sane...mostly .

Yes, I'm gonna get a winch soon...currentl shopping around trying to find a decent deal on one.

Also, I think I'm gonna get the bumper skid from JCR...The only question is, do I go back to the same place for powder coating to make sure the color matches the bumper, or do I take my chances somewhere else and hope they can match it exactly...

Love that color with the Winter Chill, something different. I didn't get the lower skid with my JCR either and have also decided to get one. I think will look better with the skid.

Finally! It looks awesome. When/if I do it I'm gonna get the skid too.

If you go back to the same powder coat I bet ya'd get a good deal at least! I don't know anything about powder coating so I really have no clue if it's easy to match or not.

This. Pretty sure they'll remember you as the guy whose order they screwed up, twice, costing them a profit...and will ride herd on the skid plate to make sure it gets done properly.

Cosmic, it looks fantastic! Glad to see you finally made it through all the trouble to get what you want...it was worth it! I would go back to the same place for powder coating, they did make it right and i would like to think they would make sure to do it right the first time for you this time....

I say NO. If they crapped out the 1st or 2nd time... I would not go back, end of story. Also who sais they can match it again... no guarantee.

Even if it's not an exact match(at another place)... the lower is a different angle and may look like another shade darker anyway.

Good luck ... I like the look of it as is now. Just my .02

Here are more pics...also, I should mention for search purposes that this is the JCR Dagger series stubby. I should've put that in the thread title.

LOL, yes, I had been out trail running...and using the Jeep as an obstacle for climbing .

In my perfect world, at some point I'll have Argent colored Pintler wheels to bring it all together...but, for now, first things first...bumper skid, shackles, winch, leveling kit, aux lighting, Trektop, etc....etc....etc...it all makes me feel like both this and this at the same time.

The holes are 1" in our tabs. Our 3/4" shackles have a 7/8" pin.
