After many months of procrastination, I finally got my bumper on to complement my sliders
JCR Dagger
JCR Classic Sliders
Mucho props to Jason @KrawlOff-Road.com for being awesome through my purchase process. He kept me up to date on all shipping information and helped me talk myself through which bumper I ended up going with
As for the bumper its self, it is super awesome and went on fairly easy with a dude helping me out with an extra set of hands, although probably not necessary, I could have done it by myself. Bolted up in less than 2 hours which also included extending and soldering the fog light connections, modifying (ie slightly trimming) the stock fog light mount to snug into its spot and drinking a few beers. You dont have to solder the wires, as they came with crimp couplers, but I wanted to be safe.
Bumper was painted by me using 2 coats of self etching primer, 2-3 coats of auto primer and 3 cans of truck bed liner (same process I used to do the sliders).
After mounting it up, I lost *maybe* 1/4" on my xx17 front springs, so basically nothing. I dont notice it on there whilst driving either. No winch yet (or maybe at all) so that could obviously change. I do have as set of xx19 springs in the basement if I do decide to go that route.
All in all, it came out looking awesome and easy to fix if it does get chipped. No worrying about repairing chipped or scratched powder coat, the rattle can of Rustoleum is like $7. No word on how easy it will be to clean when it gets full of mud and bugs though. May need to invest in that Engo winch/power washer combo after all
