jeep:1 dodge intrepid: 0

just had to share. i know an accident is never a good thing; everyone is fine, no injuries.

but i have to say i am thankful for my lift and bigger tires which totally saved me from body damage. i have rock sliders too but i didn't see any damage to them. maybe after i wash it i might see something.

basically, i was in the 3rd furthest lane to the median. the cars in the left lane, closets to the media, all started braking hard. i could see it all happening so i started to slow down and go on the defense. one car bailed into the lane in front of me to avoid hitting the stopped car and i thought that was it, that it was over, then wham! crunch, bump bump. the car directly next to me in the left lane also decided to bail, right into the side of me. nothing i could do. it was over before i even know it started. i was in the next lane over by the time it was done.

i totally expected the worse. got out to look at the dmagae and was like, 'huh? i did just get hit didn't i?" i was amazed. the only real damage was the front fender somehow bent under/folded under and my own tire scratched it all up. then the rear fender had scratches from where the car hit again. my tires have scuff marks all over them from the other car. oh an the front bumper has some light marks where the car must have first hit too.

the dodge was not so lucky. the entire passenger side was dented from front to back. it kind of reminded of nascar accidents when they hit the tire of another vehicle.

cop gave the other driver a ticket.

i LOVE my jeep

Pretty sweet.

But make sure you check for damage you can't see...wheel bearings, steering, etc. Sometimes it'll take a little while to show up.

Im glad everyone is Ok! If you want to fix those scratches, which I would suggest doing,I'm sure the other guys insurance will cover it. It's pretty nice how jeeps are so tough!

this is true. the tires took most of the beating. i have to do an oil change and tire rotation this coming weekend so it will be a good time to look for any other damage.

i'm thinking i will get them fixed. it will be a small claim but i don't feel like i should have to drive around with or try to repair myself the damage. will try to take a picture of the front fender today because its really interesting that it folded under and didn't break off/crack.

Glad to hear you weren't hurt and glad your Jeep wasn't hurt to bad either.
