Jeep damaged from transport

Does anyone know what part of the Jeep they hook to the truck when it's being transported? I've been trying to figure out where some damage is coming from on all new Jeeps and its either from the factory, which I doubt, or somewhere along transport. Is it hooked up to the bottom somewhere?

Yeah all new ones- nothing major but it's underneath where the side steps are bolted on. The hole closest to the front wheel on both sides looks like it was pulled by something and the paint is chipped off. I looked at some older Jeeps and that area begins to develop a lot of rust over time.

They're strapped front and rear to the frame.

Most are wheel strapped out of the factory now. If not they are chained using R hooks which will chip the paint its metal it's not damage it's part of the transport process.

My '13 has the same bent/chipped paint on the square holes in the rocker where it was tied down, either transport or on the line somewhere. Could just use some touch up paint, take a long time for rust to become an issue probably. With the newer treated metals its not like the old days where a rock chip to bare metal rusts through in a few years..

I found no damage on mine yesterday. Shipped three weeks ago today. Went by truck the entire way, no rail.

Possible its from rail transport, its not horrible or something you will ever see unless you are under it. Rust could be an issue if you go through a lot of road salt, I'm not losing any sleep over it, but it is there..
