Jeep extended warranty coverage: Transmission cooler included

So I purchased the extended warranty when I bought my Jeep back in August. I just received the extended warranty plan explaining all the components that are covered. Here's an interesting section:

Mopar Accessories: The following Mopar accessories are covered provided they were installed by an authorized Chrysler Group facility: Audio Systems (including compact disc and cassette players); Speed Control; EVS (Security system); Clocks; Remote trunk release; Remote controlled outside mirrors; Power sliding rear window (trucks); Transmission oil cooler.

Transmission: Transmission case and all internal parts; Torque converter; Drive/Flex plate; Transmission range switch; Transmission control module; Bell housing; Oil pan; Seals and gaskets for listed parts only. Note: Manual transmission clutch parts are not covered at any time.

So I wonder if Chrysler is contradicting themselves when people ask if a transmission cooler would void the warranty on a transmission when my extended warranty service contract says it would be covered if installed by a Chrysler dealer?

All the newer JK's with automatic trans. NEED an oil cooler, Chrysler has started installing them on units that did not originally have them installed because they have realized the trans overheats very easily and to cover their own asses have begun installing them. That way they don't have to honor the warranty on their shitty auto transmissions. There is TONS of info on the web on this subject.

Do you have links about that? Everything I've been reading about people taking their Jeep's to dealers about the hot oil issue they get told a cooler would void their warranty.

No. From what I've been researching, no US made Wrangler has a trans cooler. However, Wrangler built for export DO have trans coolers.

So far, from what I've read/heard-the only time a dealer will install a MOPAR aux Automatic xmission cooler, is when you're at the dealer because of a "FAILED" auto !!

I think they will doit for you on request, but be ready for a $500 dollar bill !!

Doit yourself for under $100 bucks !!

You can go to this site and enter your model year and get all of the recalls, bulletins, and
investigations on it. It does mention a trans temp warning installation.

Heh Heh, yea it covers them--not you

From what I've read, if you drive a few moments longer-after- the "hot oil" alarm, the ECM shifts your jeep into "LIMP" mode and you're up a creek, doesn't matter where you are, I don't know how long you'll be shut down, but that ain't for me !!

There is a very simple solution for this problem...for future reference:

When you order your next Jeep...MANUAL TRANSMISSION FTW!!
